Holiday rentals with a kayak in Dauphin Island

We are really going to miss this quiet quaint little hideaway, Moonrise Cottage! It was a perfect place to bring the kids. We all had such a great time. It’s a place that allowed us to forget about our daily lives and responsibilities for a week and live in the moment together. We dont want to leave , lol. We will definitely be back!! ❤️ Our host Amanda was the sweetest. I got the opportunity to meet her in person and she is so down to earth and so kind. She shared with me some history of the cottage and area and it was soo interesting to learn about it. She was a great host!!

This is home away from home! Very clean and comfy. We hung out in the sun porch most of the time, played games and had so much fun. The area is beautiful and quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oil, vinegar etc. and there was coffee and creamer! I really appreciate this, you will not find this in most AIRBNB, s.

This is an absolutely amazing home, perfect for families. Haleigh is a fantastic host. Communication was easy, and she went above and beyond to help us when we had a problem. We swam in the pool, fished from the pier, played corn hole in the sand, kayaked in the lagoon, cooked in the well stocked kitchen, and watched the sunset while relaxing in the hammocks. Wonderful memories were made. We were sad when our time came to an end, but we are are already planning a trip back next summer.

Layout of the house fit our families needs perfectly. Accommodations were comfortable which made it convenient to handle the 7 adults and 2 kids. It was great for the grandkids to have access not only the Gulf but also the lagoon off the back of the house where they could play in the water and the beach area with being bothered by the ocean waves. We had a great & memorable family vacation.

We had such a wonderful stay. Spent time relaxing on the dock and patio. Had some beach time. House was well stocked. Very comfy.

Quiet location on the water. The fishing from the dock was great. The house itself was very clean and well maintained. Definitely would book this place again

We can’t say enough great things about this place, it was such a short walk to the beach and the house included everything you would need for a week on the beach. Having a beach wagon, coolers, chairs, beach games, bikes already there takes the stress off of parents and guests to remember everything they may need especially when you live far away: Kitchen was very clean and had everything you would need. Beds were very comfortable. As a family of 4 it was a perfect fit and could’ve accommodated a few more people as well. Several local restaurants and activities to do as well. We will definitely book here again. Thank you for a wonderful week!

This was by far the best air bnb I have ever stayed at…and all my friends said the same! We stayed at Rob & Susie’s home for my wedding weekend. They were so friendly from the start, and left us a sweet note and wedding gift for us to see as we walked in the door. The hospitality was unmatched! The home was spotless with a stunning view. It matched the description perfectly, but the photos don’t even do it justice. There was even more space than I thought, and the kids room was able to fit adults. I loved that nearly every room had a balcony and bathroom. The master bedroom had fantastic lighting and space for my bridesmaids and I to get ready for the wedding. The driveway was able to fit so many cars, and having the door code made it easy for 15+ people to stay. I highly recommend this home for your large group vacation!

The pictures are beautiful on the listing, but it’s actually better in real life. Just beautiful, the debt goes all the way around the house. You could always find shade and cool breezes everywhere. We didn’t have to leave the house for the sunrise and that was really beautiful. The canal was so fun to have right there. We weren’t sure how much we were gonna be using the canal but we used it a lot! The beds were great. And I love how they have nice toilet paper, it seems like a little thing, but we love good toilet paper. 🤣 We will be back.

We had a great trip.! Extremely accommodating for our family of four. We came for a fishing trip. They have kayaks we all enjoyed taking out to the bay. Caught several different types of fish, and even seen some dolphins one evening. Far enough away for a peaceful vacation, yet close enough to drive to the beach for the other fishing we did. Great stay.! Fantastic hosts.!

We had such a pleasant stay! The home was exactly as described—clean, quiet, and beautifully maintained. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating, always quick to respond and helpful with local tips.

Absolutely loved this stay! The pictures do not do it justice, it was beautiful! The house smelled and looked great right when we stepped in. Meredith was such a great host! Super responsive before and throughout our stay! She went above and beyond for our stay this weekend! I would 100% book again! This stay was amazing and I was so sad to leave. Teresa & John have created an incredible respite that has every amenity you could imagine. The home is filled with so many beautiful touches A well stocked Kitchen was great fun! Bed linens and pillows were the most comfortable we have ever encountered. The outdoor spaces: fire pit, screened porch, hot tub and grill were incredible. We enjoyed the provided water sports equipment that could easily be carried one block up to the public pier. Words cannot adequately describe how welcomed we felt! Thank you so very much for your hospitality and generosity.

My family and I had an absolute amazing time. I don’t think we could have found a better place! The cottage is FULLY equipped- not a thought was left out. The kitchen was stocked and had a few things commonly forgotten/don’t have when traveling. Plenty of blankets, pillows, comfortable beds, beach towels, etc. Also came with 2 kayaks and all the things needed for the beach (chairs, toys, etc). Plenty of very comfortable outdoor seating including a comfy hammock. This house had it all. Watching dolphins and other wildlife while sipping coffee on the deck was the best part of it. The neighbors were very quiet. Daniel and Juli were promptly available for anything we needed. A perfect stay! Will be back!!! Thank you!!

Absolutely loved our stay! The house was gorgeous, spotless, and packed with amenities—better than we could’ve hoped for. The property itself was beautiful, and the check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Everything about the experience was top-notch. Highly recommend!

Wendye was super responsive and proactive as our host. We planned to bring our two goldendoodles and typically use a playpen instead of a crate. Since the house rules say a crate must be used, I ran the playpen by Wendye for approval and she was very understanding and accommodated us by allowing the use of it instead of crates. Overall the stay was exactly as expected and we were very happy to have chosen this host and property! Thank you!

Lovely Respite from life here on the River! Lots of fun watching the boats fly by, eating Crawfish & enjoying beautiful sunsets! Nicely appointed home, wonderful beds & linens! Great hosts! Can’t wait to come back next year!!!

Wonderful pet friendly place to stay. Quiet and peaceful but close proximity to shopping, restaurants, etc.

hosts was wonderful. hosts kept us informed through the whole process. Cabin was beautiful, good mixture of vintage and modern furnitures,well maintained. Our host was friendly and welcoming.. The area was peaceful and quiet.

We really enjoyed our stay! The place was great. So peaceful! Joseph did well at communicating as well! We hope to go back again!

Stayed here while evacuating from Hurricane Milton. Check-In process was super straight forward, the hosts were very understanding of our situation and allowed us to check in early after we drove 8 hours from the Tampa area! The cabin was charming and relaxing. Good internet and environment to get some work done. Plenty of activities to do on-site. Great views of the water! We were even able to use the kayaks at the stay. The fishing was great too, we were able to catch over 45 fish in the 3 days we were there. While there was plenty of stuff to do on-site, everything you need is within 5-10. The beach and great restaurants are super close. Definitely will be coming back under different circumstances!

Such a cute little cabin we had a nice weekend. Everything was just as described would go back.

Shawn’s place is a great place to spend time. My wife says she feels right at home staying there. We have actually stayed there several times . I would highly recommend this place for a peaceful vacation. Shawn is a great host.
