This was a great place in a cool part of San Jose. Brand new high rise fronts directly on a park. Met some great people at the park. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. The space is small but we had everything we needed for 3 days for a couple. The roof top common area was very usable for work or relaxing. Great views of the city. Be sure and go up to see the city at night. The host was very responsive and went out of his way to make us comfortable.

Spacious studio with balcony

We stayed only one day in San Jose. The apartment was perfect and exactly as listed. We found amazing coffee in walking distance, restaurants, bars and live music. We got lucky in finding a live concert downtown and a cultural festival while walking around. I feel we got a good taste of the city. We will definitely come back!

Relaxing Apt 20th Floor! Pool Wifi AC.

Raquel's place was perfect for our stay, with a well-stocked kitchen and comfortable bed and sheets. It was great having a washer AND dryer in the unit. The location in Los Yoses and near Escalante was a real plus. We have found that generally you don't need air conditioning in San Jose, but it was nice to be able to turn it on for 15 minutes or so, when the heat and humidity was a little high. I think we used it twice in our 17 days there. A great place to stay and we loved being on the 20th floor. Note that there is a train that goes by the front of the building and if the door to the balcony is open it is loud. However, for some reason it never bothered us. It stopped at bedtime. We would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment is gorgeous, spotless, and thoughtfully designed — and the location is ideal for exploring the area. Communication with the host was easy, and check-in went smoothly. There were a couple of minor inconveniences: the bathroom could use a few functional tweaks (shower water didn’t get very hot and the open shower setup led to water on the floor). Also, the parking uses a vending-style system that adds ~10 minutes each time you retrieve the car — something to be aware of ahead of time. That said, we had a great experience overall and would definitely stay again!

Tropical & cozy apartment in historic Barrio Otoya

I had a great stay at Dominique’s AirBnB in Barrio Otoya. I was in San Jose for a week to explore some of Costa Rica’s capital and to do some day trips to tourist spots outside the city. The AirBnB was in a great location both for visiting museums and the National Theatre in downtown San Jose as well as for checking out coffee shops and restaurants in nearby Barrio Escalante. Dominique was a responsive host for check in and check out and also offered good local recommendations for activities (I arrived the weekend of the Transitarte festival which was a fab rec!) and places to eat (Cafe Otoya is a must!). The AirBnB has two stages to entry so feels very safe and secure (plus security camera!) on a quieter street, but is close to a pick up point for guided tours (across from the La Linea Bar). Overall, I would happily return here if ever back in San Jose! A note for light sleepers/late risers: heed the note re. the trains, especially in the morning (didn’t bother me though!😁)

The place was GREAT, they respond rapidly. I could hear the train that a prior occupant complained about, however it wasn't that bad, and only on weekdays I believe. The security is pretty tight, but give the host time to let the security know and they will accommodate your guest. The upstairs shower water could have been a little hotter, but it's probably a simple water heater tweak. The downstairs bedroom doesn't have AC, but there are portable fans not an issue this time of year. I think the living room could use a TV, however if I had to pick living room tv or bedroom tv's I would pick bedroom so not a major complaint. There is a grocery store and a gas station across the street so the location is perfect if you rent a car and need groceries. Restaurants within walking distance and you are close to the social areas. The couch can even be used as a bed, however I don't think it is mentioned in the listing. Lastly the iron just needs to be cleaned or replaced. GREAT PLACE

Wonderful place and Pablo is a great host. We loved the rooftop jacuzzi. Only problem was that Saturday night was very loud outside all night and that made it hard to sleep. But that can happen when you stay at an active location.
