Himalayan Forest Retreat in a Wood house

Samrat bhai is a fantastic host, always on his feet, making sure we feel at home. I loved his recipes, which were simple, flavourful and nutritious. The room was austere and cozy, with the common area being the highlight of interesting conversations. The view from the room, is majestic with snow-capped peaks in the end of March. Many locals will eagerly and warmly welcome you and make you feel like a part of their family. I made friends with many people and will cherish their company in my memory. Samrat bhai himself opens up his heart and does the best he can in providing a surreal experience. Also, his rich knowledge of the area and the terrain was really helpful in planning the itinerary.

The stay was amazing and the place was as it looked and very clean. Whenever we needed anything, the hosts were a call away. No complaints but only love for the place and stay. Whenever you visit Harshil valley this is the best place to stay at as it is at a walkable distance from the market and apt far from all the noise of the market.

This was my third visit to Raithal and to the Red House. A cozy hut surrounded by peace and silence, with breathtaking mountain views. Always a grounding experience. the surroundings are just like an aquarelle painting. thank you! --- Let me know if you'd like to add anything about the host, amenities, or nearby treks.

I had a great time at Oakwood Homestay. Suman, the host, is super gracious. The place has an amazing view and is prefect for a family or a bigger group. We were served simple food which we loved. There are multiple treks nearby which you will thoroughly enjoy.

The Harshil Orchids - Harshil (Dharali-Mukhba)

To reach the place you need to trek ~150 meters, but once you reach the stay, it’s divine. The views from the stay are out of this world. Special mention to the caretakers for being so helpful and kind and providing us with the best food. It tasted so amazing. Also a big thanks to the host for being responsive and helping us with information whenever we needed anything.
