Storsjøen er kjent for ferskvannsfiske og vannaktiviteter. Det finnes mange merkede turstier i nærheten. 60 minutter med bil fra Gardermoen og 75 minutter til Oslo. Hyttefeltet er meget barnevennlig og lukket med bom ,kun for beboere.

Det gamle sommerfjøset til Hovelsrud Gård ligger idyllisk til mellom Mjøsa og en bølgende kornåker – et enkelt og unikt sted for den som vil komme tett på naturen og nyte roen på Helgøya. Huset passer best for et par eller en liten familie med inntil to barn. Inne er det et soverom og en åpen stue. Ute er det en kjøkkenbenk, med et gassbluss og grill, en liten strand med bademulighet og utedo. Det er ikke strøm.
