Family-friendly holiday rentals in Donegal

This was a last minute few days away, and what a find, so peaceful, I loved the garden, could just potter about in it all day, huge fish pond so relaxing . Little slice of heaven. We have 2 pugs one very very anxious, Nicola was so understanding. Hot tub was a wonderful bonus. Definitely recommend this place, in such a lovely area and walking distance to the beach .

The place was spotless and incredibly clean, making it feel comfortable and inviting. The attention to detail really stood out, and it was clear the host cares about providing a top-notch experience. The place exceeded my expectations in every way – it was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was welcoming and responsive, ensuring everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out. The location was perfect, and I truly felt at home during my stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience and would love to stay here again in the future!

Grace's house was a real treat! Nestled away in the trees overlooking the river made it feel so private and peaceful. The house itself was so cosy, clean and inviting but had plenty of space and different areas to relax. The grounds were amazing and the kids had a ball discovering the swings, hottub and reading shed. The whole place was magical and we were sad to leave. Grace was very responsive to any communication and made us feel so welcome. The house location was a great base for some of the stunning sights Donegal has to offer and we were very close to many beautiful sandy beaches. This house was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in! The cabin was spotless and the location was spectacular, Mary and her sister Breeta were a pleasure to deal with. The cabin and the views were amazing, we spent it as a couple and with friends but it is ideal for family break also would love to go back highly recommend it.

Felt so relaxed the minute we walked through the door. Everything was immaculate! It was the perfect staycation to unwind and we’ve come away feeling super refreshed. Hot tub has the most beautiful views too, We had a blast and so did our wee doggo! Thanks for everything, We will be back.. very soon!!

My husband and I absolutely loved staying here!! It was just what we needed during our 6 day road trip around Ireland! The jacuzzi was a huge plus for us! We would definitely return if we’re ever back in Ireland!!

Everything was perfect, nice jacuzzi, very spacious house, everything what you need to stay included (pans, pots, cups..), very clean inside. One thing what wasn’t perfect was smell from cows farm which is very close to house (not whole day, just from time to time), if somebody don’t have a problem with that and like “country side vibes) I’ll say its 10/10 👍

We had a fantastic time staying at Shelia's place (The Snug). Situated in the quiet village of Dunkineely located between Donegal Town and Killybegs, the accommodation is the ideal base to explore this part of Donegal. The enclosed large garden, which has a wonderful view over the bay, was perfect for our dog Molly. The people of the village were very friendly, there is a Mace 1 min walk away should you need anything and you'll receive a warm welcome (dogs too !!) in Macs Bar if you fancy a pint. We didn't need to contact the host during our stay as we had no problems and everything about the place was perfect. My only complaint is we didn't stay longer. We plan to make a return visit.

Wonderful home,eveything you needed and more. Nice short walk to town where you can get everything you need. Variety of bars and restaurants to choose from. Will certainly stay again if back in area. Communication from Gemma was excellent and Lisa was on hand locally if any question.

We had such a nice time staying at the cottage. It was so peaceful, right in nature. Daragh was very kind and gave us a lift to the shops which was really nice. The cottage was perfect and felt very homely.

Cosy, warm, bright, airy and exceptionally clean. Very well equipped throughout, particularly the kitchen. The cottage is a great place to experience the Rosguill peninsula regardless of the changeable Donegal weather. In particular, the sunroom has beautiful views across Sheephaven bay. It was a perfect place for our two dogs. Close to beaches & an ideal location for an superb stay in the Downings area.

Peters Place was wonderful, private. loved being on the farm with the animals. the surrounding area it was all perfect. Lots of area to walk and wonder. Peter offered great suggestions on things to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again.

Jill and Alistair could not have been better hosts. From initial booking inquiry through checkout, they were incredibly helpful, responsive, friendly, and went the extra mile without any prompt. Directions to the stay were crystal clear, the property is immaculate, beautiful, private, and well located for the exploration of Finad and all of Donegal. Rathmullan is a wonderful town, and I can not recommend enough a stay with Jill, and Alistair, and especially their wonderful dogs. Alistair was extra helpful in navigating the area, providing recommendations, asking for feedback, and saving a few strokes up at Portsalon Golf Club. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay well within reach of some of Ireland's most beautiful drives, landmarks, and scenery, this is the place to be. We have travelled quite a bit over the last few years, and this stay was the best we have experienced due to not only location, but the hospitality of Jill and Alistair. A review of 5 stars is too few.

I couldn't rate the location, the lodge or the hosts any higher. Both Marion and Declan are very welcoming with my mam especially praising her time with Marion. The Lodge was perfect. Books, board games and plenty of kitchen facilities, the ninja oven is very easy to operate. It was a hit with my kid too, as self confessed townies, she loved the experience in a rural environment. There's also a swingset and she adored the pet ducks. Absolutely would return, if you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the spot.

my family and I had a great week at the Coach house, and the house was spacious and very well equipped and clean. the main attractions are outdoors! the lake at the bottom of the driveway! the beach, the private hot tub was amazing and so spacious. the games room was fab! everyone loved it, from the adults to the kids, hours of entertainment 😀 highly recommend 👌

We were astonished by this place. The house is so deceiving from the front but once you enter it’s completely modern with an en-suite in every single bedroom, you would swear you were staying in the hotel itself. The rooms were spotless and the staff on site were absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back here again soon and will be recommending this place to everyone who is looking for a staycation. Thanks again for a great night away.

Beautiful and spacious ocean front rental. We had everything we needed and quick access to the Buncrana ocean trail. We had a relaxing time here to celebrate a wedding.

Came to Ireland for a family vacation - 8 adults and a 1 year old. This was our third AirBnb on the trip and cannot say enough about how wonderful it was! So much history but with modern amenities. It was the best part of our trip. Went on many walks - over to the castle and to Harvey's Point stopping at the Famine Pot and seeing great views of the lake & farm animals along the way. Stayed three nights and used the pool/pond and sauna every day. The dining & living rooms were really spacious. We cooked all of our meals - the kitchen is a great set up with loads of dishes and anything you could need. The butcher in town had a great selection. Musical instruments were a huge bonus. It was quite warm for May so we didn't have a chance to have any fires - but the fireplaces would be wonderful for cool nights. There is also the 'wagon' which has a double bed, small kitchen and seating area and an adjacent full bathroom available. Rose was always a message away and super helpful. Loved it!
