Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Dota

This airbnb mountain home exceeded all expectations with its breathtaking views and cozy, beautiful interior. We all had a relaxing time...the fireplace and fantastic jacuzzi made for a truly unforgettable stay. On top of that, Maria Laura was incredibly responsive, kind, and welcoming, even providing us with coffee and delicious homemade tortillas! 10/10 we hope to be back soon!

Our party of 12 all loved our stay. We particularly appreciated the attentiveness of Emanuel, who offered local expertise and guidance, and the immediate responses from the host, Peter. The birds and monkeys we could see from the patio made it a spectacular location. Lovely patio and pool. Table that seated 12 and a well equipped kitchen that could accommodate multiple cooks made the stay even more delightful. Thanks!

Wow, this place was absolutely magical. We were so grateful to have stayed in such a gorgeous home for 6 nights and have the chance to see 2 different types of toucans, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and coatis all on the property. The location and home were secure, clean, and impressive. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well, showers werea dream. In the pictures, the Whale's Tail looked like it would be hard to see, but the actual view of Uvita and the Whale's Tail is pretty incredible and much closer than expected. We have been to Costa Rica a couple of times now and choose homes higher up in the jungle for the privacy and view, but I will say this house is UP THERE. There's no way a non-4x4 car would make it up. It was quite the ride, and did take us longer than google maps said to expect. Even with the drive, this place is where you want to be. Couldn't have been better. Diana, Roberto and team were also amazing to work with, friendly, and very responsive.

Communication with the host was excellent. Very helpful and responsive. The cabin was great. Kitchen well stocked. Bed was comfortable and the view was beautiful. Note that the 5:30 am morning sun comes in and the animals get up that early. If you want to sleep in, bring eye covers and ear plugs. We had a lovely breakfast on the porch looking at the volcano. Overall, it was a good stay.

A absolute privilege to spend a few days here as a family. A gem of a house that felt immediately like a home. We loved the quirks and the passion for enjoyment. Top of our price range but to us it was worth every penny. Thank you Tucker.

Absolutely stunning! The photos don’t do it justice. Isabel was an amazing host. She took her time to show us around the house and give us amazing recommendations for white water rafting and a chef to come to the house. I can’t wait to come back.

Truly an incredible, quiet, peaceful Costa Rican experience. Great for families, especially those with younger children- space to run and play, stocked with toys, and -a true treasure in CR- has a more powerful washer and dryer for “resetting” if you’re on a longer trip and need fresh clean clothes. The road in takes courage and potentially a 4x4 if you’re not used to driving the terrain like a Tico. Hosts are among the top 1% of all AirBnB hosts globally- intuitive, clean, accommodating, extremely well organized. Cooler weather and fewer mosquitoes than in other areas of the country. Best stay we have had in many trips to the area- thank you!

Cindy’s condo is the perfect retreat for a family, or for a group. It is incredibly spacious, with more room than the pictures can show. The view of San Jose was gorgeous day and night. The pool was public to the condo, and was heated. The drive Into San Jose was a touch longer than expected, but that was no biggie due to all of the other amenities. Lots of balcony space, on multiple levels have great indoor/outdoor experiences. Definitely would stay again.

Sara was a great host. The unit was exactly what we were looking for. It felt like a place you could settle into nicely. Would recommend Sara and the unit to anyone looking to stay in that area.

My time in Costa Rica was great but what made it the best experience was my Airbnb with Leidy she was absolutely amazing the entire way and very helpful and communicative. I can’t wait to stay at her property again. Definitely worth it. The place was beautiful and clean and it made me forget all about my own home 😂

The place was really nice and comfortable, we found everything we needed and the building has awesome nice areas for pictures. The view it’s great and the location was really convenient to visit any area of San Jose.

Fernan was very responsive and attentive. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The building staff were really great and accommodating. The rooftop gym, lap pool and the general pool are a real bonus. The restaurants, cafe and mini-market were very convenient. A hair salon had just opened the day before I checked out but good to know there is another added convenience on the property. Id stay there again!

We loved Diego's house. Super cute and full of personality. We will definitely return :)

I arrived at Chema and Marga’s place after a long bumpy ride on an unpaved road. My first view of the property almost brought tears to my eyes - their home is basically in the clouds! I felt so lucky to be there. And then when I walked in through the big, beautiful, heavy wooden front doors the sight of the interior really took my breath away. Even now words escape me as it is difficult to describe the feeling of peace and serenity I felt immediately. The home is just gorgeous and I have great respect for Chema and Marga for building this masterpiece by hand. Everything the other reviewers said is accurate, I will just add that there is a majestic view of the stars on clear nights, that Marga is one of the strongest and most amazing women I’ve ever met, and Chema is a wise old man who gave me incredible information about the earth that I’m really grateful for. I was so glad to have had access to such delicious home cooked vegan meals as well - thankful to the hosts for accommodating my specific diet. This is a perfect place to get away from city life, to experience the healing gifts of nature and to be in silence. Thank you Chema and Marga for opening up your home to guests, and allowing us access to this slice of paradise.

We just came back from a week in the beautiful rainforest villa…it was heaven on earth! What an absolutely gorgeous property. Comfy beds, wonderful space for 4 kids and four adults (could’ve fit another family too), daily macaw and toucan visits on the balcony, wonderful housekeeping and the best pool. From the moment we booked, Hazel reached out to help us seamlessly setup all transportation and activities. She was proactive, very communicative and had everything setup for us without issue. Jorge then met us at the home to welcome us and was available for anything we needed throughout the trip. Jorge and Hazel made our trip so easy and fun…thank you! We hope to return again in the near future…absolutely loved our trip!

Great spot close enough but far enough from the city.

I booked this listing for a group of 8 women. We all needed time to get away from our busy lives in the U.S. The six nights at La Sombra were peaceful and inspiring! What a beautiful location and beautiful grounds. We were all stunned by the property, in a good way:) It was even better than the beautiful pictures provided. Each villa was appointed beautifully with quality linens, towels, robes, bath soaps, dishes, etc. We especially enjoyed the patio views and the design of the structures that incorporate natural light and the surrounding nature. We ate dinner each night on the patio of the main house, and found a spot for morning meditations on the bridge. Catherine and Ryan were available and responsive before, during and after our visit. And, I cannot say enough about the local cook, Marta. We all wanted to take her home with us! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Catherine and Ryan!

This is a very special place up in the cloud forest. In the morning you can see the Pacific coast and mountains and in the afternoon you can watch the clouds come in. It's stunning. The dome structure is spectacular and the interior is pure zen. We had a lot of interesting conversations with Chema and Marga's food is so tasty and balanced. This was a one of kind place.

Spectacular hosts, they quickly become your friend! Andrea, his family and his home are a unique experience. The view, training room and all utilities inside the house are worthy of a luxury home, the unparalleled security and privacy of the place allows you to enjoy the fresh air and the view of the entire city of Cartago. Note: They wake up in the early morning and go out to the balcony of the master bedroom! They will thank me

Beautiful property and extraordinary views. Liberty was a very responsive and gracious host, we truly enjoyed our stay, the pool and the tower which was where we hung out most! Grocery stores and restaurants were available within a short distance, although we cooked a lot on property, we even got to experience a local festival.

Wanda is very friendly and attentive, always attentive to any inquiries we had. The cottage is very well equipped, clean, safe and very comfortable. We had a great time and quiet!
