Lay in bed at night and listen to river that runs the entire length of the property. The house has a full kitchen with seating for 6. Spacious living room for relaxing or admiring one of the many birds that visit all year round. Two upstairs bedrooms and office space. Lovely stay in a cozy, comfortable house only 15 minutes from Mount Snow. We enjoyed post ski-day nights by the fire, with plenty of comfortable seating and board games galore. The yard was great for our dogs and features like the koi pond and hot tub were easy to enjoy in a peaceful and private environment. We’ll be back!

Magical Retreat Cottage - Waterfalls Everywhere

Gene’s house is a place of peaceful quiet and beauty. It’s well appointed and comfortable, with wireless and all the various conveniences, but it’s far more than that. The separation between the interior and the beautiful meadow and forest outside dissolves through Gene’s use of windows and glass doors, and the calming sound of falling water can be heard in every room. His use of color and symmetry create an environment that allows you to decompress, and as a result, you can’t help but to connect with the beauty of the forest. The waterfalls are wonderful to sit by; it was too early in the season for a swim in a cold mountain stream, but that’s just me. The design and setting of the home is a reflection of Gene. If you visit, I recommend that you get to know him a bit. His kind attentiveness makes him a first-rate host, but it’s part and parcel of his uncommon connection to the world around him. Gene was more than a host to us- he became a true friend. We will be back.

My family and I had a great stay at John’s place. It was just as described and in a perfect location, located just a few minutes from Mount Snow and surrounded by all of the great restaurants that West Dover has to offer. The space was spotlessly clean and super comfortable to relax after a long day of skiing. John was very communicative and friendly and even left some treats for us upon arrival which was much appreciated. This might be our new top pick of places to stay when we are in the area!
