Our seperate, private cottage sits on our 2,250sqm property, with the great taste trail right on our doorstep and the gateway to the Abel Tasman 15 minutes drive away. Hairy Hobbit is a modern self contained holiday cottage offering peaceful accommodation in 70 acres of native bush, bursting with birdlife and fantastic views across Tasman Bay. Ideal for day trips to Nelson or Golden Bay or to visit the huge scenery of the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks and Kaiteriteri beach.

Cath and Al are kiwi locals having been born and brought up in this area and lived here all our lives. We are happy to give guests advice on where to visit and what to see. Our accommodation is located in a quiet peaceful location with bush and native birdsong on a ridge. There are breathtaking views across Sandy Bay, Marahau and Abel Tasman National Park from the apartment.

Quiet and cosy Motueka

The master bedroom and en-suite in my home is set up as a private Airbnb room. It has its own car parking area, entrance door, and kitchenette. I live in the rest of the house. So its like staying in your own motel room but without that usual bland and touristy motel feeling.
