Cottage holiday rentals in Dunure

My friend and I chose this cottage for a quiet getaway with our dogs and it was just what we hoped it would be. We were welcomed by Barbara and Graeme upon arrival and they were very kind and helpful if we had any queries at all. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. The views from the bedrooms were stunning and there were plenty walks nearby the property, which were especially lovely in the evening with the sunsets. It was the perfect scenic escape we needed. Thank you Barbara and Graeme (and Rosie the golden retriever of course!).

A very beautiful cottage in a private setting. We were met by George on arrival. George was very friendly and informative. We instantly felt right at home. Welcome basket on the kitchen table was a lovely touch. We settled in very quickly and with ease as parking was right outside the cottage. We enjoyed the very clean hot tub in the evenings after our busy days out as well as excellent carryout deliveries. Quality of food was very good. Another highlight was watching the various types of birds feeding, which we could see from the kitchen table and seating area. Especially the Woodpecker which made a regular appearance. We all enjoyed a truly relaxing break in very comfortable and private surroundings. Our check-in and check-out was effortless. Thank you George and Amanda, we will certainly be back.

An absolute stunning break, our third time here. A quiet, comfortable home and a spectacular garden space for my autistic son to be himself, and my 3 Chihuahuas felt like they were in heaven. The hot tub was well used, even my elderly mum had a go. We had some lovely visits to the surrounding areas but mostly enjoyed the rest and relaxation that we all needed. We can’t wait to come back again.

He had a lovely Christmas holiday at this great lodge. Clean lodge, peaceful location, great hot tub. We had everything we needed and felt like home. We recommend this lovely place and we will definitely come back. Thank you !

A tranquil and peaceful stay in this spacious and well equipped cottage. We were well looked after by Jenny and co. and felt totally relaxed. Enjoyed our interactions with farm life, which included birthing a lamb, petting the donkies and seeing the newborn kittens, it made our stay very special. The house is well located for trips into Edinburgh and Glasgow, or to enjoy nearby countryside. You won't regret it!

We absolutely loved our stay here, the hot tub made it even better. Place was immaculately clean, no faults what so ever. Basic kitchen equipment which is all you need for a few days away. Plenty of restaurants, take aways and shop within the area if you’re driving so was able to have the option there if we fancied. Access was easy and it was easy to find, we both liked how it wasn’t on a public road etc and it was so peaceful at night. We were lucky to be able to see a sunset on our first night and that was fantastic, being able to be in the hot tub and have those views was just unreal. Even on our second night the weather wasn’t the best we still loved every minute of it. We cannot recommend this enough, we will definitely be back! Thank you both again

Second time here and again it was fabulous. What an absolutely outstanding place for a quiet weekend. Allan is the perfect host who was readily available if we needed him. The cottage is outstanding and was pristine inside and outside with everything we needed from salt & pepper dishes to dishwasher tablets!! Toilets were immaculate & every room had lovely soft bathrobes as well. Allan even left us a few wee goodies like lovely biscuits and crisps and milk and water in the fridge - a lovely touch! We couldn’t find even the slightest fault with anything in this cottage. Definitely returning for a third time next year!! Well done Allan!! A BIG 10/10!!

We had an excellent stay in Sue's well-appointed, comfortable and cosy accommodation. We loved the view from the dining table! Nothing is very far from anywhere on Arran and Pirnhill proved to be a good base. Sue was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Lovely residence exactly as described even down to little things like fresh flowers in every room and fresh milk in the fridge. Bed lovely and comfy so had excellent nights sleep. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at Hayley's place for a couple of nights to break up a long journey home from the outer hebrides. The home is really tastefully designed and decorated and we felt relaxed and comfortable from the moment we walked through the door. The one issue we did have was resolved immediately for ys us. Thanks Hayley for a lovely place.

Lucy is a very kind and generous person. She will do her utmost to help with any problems. Yesterday, I went out the back door to find a box of eggs from her chickens. She leaves them regularly. I know if there is anything where I need assistance I just need to ask and she's there. A truly super host

It has been a pleasure to stay in Zan's house. Very comfortable, clean and makes you feel at home. The children loved the horses, chickens and all the animals. It was the perfect spot to recharge our batteries

Peel lodge was just a perfect stay for us. We were near to one of our daughters who was preparing for her imminent wedding. But also easy access to go exploring for our future home. The lodge was clean and tidy on our arrival . We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here and would highly recommend .

an absolute gem of a cottage. the bed was so comfortable as was the pillows. everything was spotlessly clean . and the garden was a bonus for our dog .. all she did was sit in front of the gate waiting for it to be opened lol . would stay again happily.

A spotless, welcoming, homely mid-row cottage with a particularly lovely open kitchen and living area. It really was kitted out with everything you might need and James provided a really great and detailed welcome booklet with everything you might need to know. He was quick to reply to messages - not that we needed to message him much as everything was as expected! There had been a problem with the wifi on our trip but James was ahead of the game, communicative about the problem, and even sorted out access to his neighbour's network for us.

We loved staying at Louise's place for a night as we travelled up the west coast. Check in was easy and everything was nice and clean when we arrived. The garden in the back is lovely and the two woodburners give a lovely cottage feel to the place.

A great place in beautiful countryside about 10minutes drive from the centre of Kirkubright. Very quiet , well equipped cottage . Highly recommended

The cottage is full of character and very cosy. It’s in a great location with fantastic walks on the doorstep. Bea was at the cottage when we arrived. She was super helpful with advice and very friendly. She was the perfect host. Would definitely recommend any one staying here.

Heather was a great host. Communicative, helpful and thoughtful. The accommodation is a unique space with very quirky features. The bedroom is serene , tranquil and the peacefulness assisted in a great nights sleep. It is a retreat from a busy world in the most marvellously scenic village. We had the most wonderful stay at Blackside Cottage and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and attention Andrew and Elizabeth put into making the place welcoming, comfortable, and beautifully presented. The cottage itself is immaculate – stylishly decorated, cozy, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was a real highlight – far better stocked than most places we’ve stayed – and the log-burning fire made our evenings incredibly relaxing. The setting is just magical. Peaceful, private, and surrounded by stunning countryside, it was the perfect place to switch off and unwind. The freestanding bath was a real luxury – perfect for a long soak after a day of exploring. Andrew and Elizabeth were brilliant hosts. Everything was smooth from booking to check-out. This place is a real gem!
