Luxury yurt that easily sleeps 5 on a private estate. It has one master bed and a pull-out couch and dining area. The yurt has a fully equipped kitchen (4 gas stoves - NO oven) as well as a woodstove and an electrical heater. The private bathroom is around the corner in a separate building (10 metres away) with a walk-in shower and compost toilet. The yurt has its own large private area/garden, with a fire pit, outside pick-nick table with outdoor lighting, and its own dock with seating area.

Sleeping among donkeys in a yurt

Sleeping a night on the meadow of the donkeys is a unique experience. WONDERFUL !! Staying at the Balkend Hoeve means that you leave out the unnecessary luxury. No TV and no WIFI Don't worry about this, you get a lot of it instead. You take a step into the slightly more primitive life for a while. In short, B(ack) to B(asic) to the rhythm of your long-time friends. Feed donkeys, chickens and rabbits, stall fattening, brushing the donkeys, replenishing water, etc.

Forest Yurt near Bruges

Our hand-made forest yurt sits in a secluded old growth forest on a private estate near medieval Bruges. The yurt is 5,5 meters (18 feet) in diameter. It sleeps 4 people comfortably, with a double bed and a double pull-out couch (but can just fit up to 5 people with an extra mattress provided). There's a wood stove & kitchenette inside. Linen, towels and organic soap/shampoo are provided.

Yurt in the Green Kempen

Our Yurt was built in early September 2024, we opted for a well-insulated waterproof construction, containing a wood-burning stove and a skylight to gaze at the starry sky. This accommodation is available year-round and is ideal as a stay for 2-4 people to rest, or to enjoy a day of hiking, cycling in the nearby forests and nature reserves. The green Kempen has a lot to offer.
