Hiking trail of about 3 km in the forest/paths starts nearby, and at the barn there are opportunities for play and ball games. Crab cooker and fire pit are available for preparing the day's catch. There are nice hiking areas, fishing opportunities, a few minutes drive to the nearest shop, short distance to Mongstad industrial area.

The micro house is located in peaceful and scenic surroundings in Solbakken- tunet på Os. Above the house is Galleri Solbakkestova with its associated sculpture garden that is always open to the public. Around the house, goats graze, and you overlook some free range hens, and some alpacas across the road. The house has terraces on both sides, where it is wonderful to sit to take in the surroundings and feel the calm. There are also great hiking trails close by.
