Birdhouse on the Beach

Birdhouse on the Beach is steps away from the beach and has an amazing view, in fact you basically drive on the beach to get to the house. The inside of the house is cozy and remodeled in January of 2021! The kitchen, bath, and living room were completely redone. A washer and dryer was added to the house along with 2 sets of bunk beds. Upper level has a spacious master bedroom, bathroom, and private deck with an ocean view. Main floor has an inviting open floor plan with living area, dining area, bar, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. There is also a large deck with chairs in both shaded covered areas and open sunny areas.

The 1847 Powhattan House & Living History Museum

Until there is time-travel, staying in the 1847 Powhatan House may be the next best thing. This is the 3rd oldest house in Galveston and has an amazing, almost unbelievable history. This beautiful Greek Revival style home is located 3 blocks from the beach and close to the Strand. The story of the house is told in a brief documentary on YouTube entitled “The Amazing History of Galveston's 1847 Powhatan House.”
