The 1847 Powhattan House & Living History Museum
Until there is time-travel, staying in the 1847 Powhatan House may be the next best thing. This is the 3rd oldest house in Galveston and has an amazing, almost unbelievable history. This beautiful Greek Revival style home is located 3 blocks from the beach and close to the Strand. The story of the house is told in a brief documentary on YouTube entitled “The Amazing History of Galveston's 1847 Powhatan House.”
