The place was beautiful. Surroundings were breath-taking. Full lush of green and a magistic mountain backdrop with a river flowing in the backyard. It was so peaceful. Julia was very warm and welcoming and helpful. Her 4 fury babies took care of us too and they were kind and gentle. The place is also a historic site, which made it even more special.

Review for Mooiplaats: What a lovely, little farm getaway. Bea and her husband, Wim, are amazing hosts and great people. The BnB is fitted with all you need to enjoy a peaceful and lovely time. Surrounded by the sounds of the farm at night, the little farm house is private and perfect. They also have their own butchery with the best bacon ever! I would highly recommend this gem to anyone with an appreciation of farmstyle living. The surrounding area also has an amazing "Melkery". So between lovely cheeses and great meat, you are sorted. And for R75pp, lovely Bea might organise a tasty farmhouse breakfast... 5/5.

We and our two puppies throughly enjoyed our weekend away at the Old Copper Shed. The farm was peaceful, quiet with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The unique copper aesthetic was one to remember and I would highly recommend the stay to anyone looking for a little sho’t left on the weekend. Bring your pets with as ours loved the freedom of the open veld. Thank you to Adriaan for the great hospitality.

I enjoyed my stay at Dikhololo, the place was clean and peaceful. My unit had everything I needed it felt like home. Thee activities there are to die for!! and catered for everyone to enjoy 😉. I personally enjoyed everything, I experienced everything that was on the advert and more. Definitely a place to visit again 😌.

I stayed at Stoney Brooke for 3 months, all my needs where met, they are very accomodating, I loved staying there, the peace and quiet is very good for the soul. I will stay there again next year.

Great host and really friendly. A relatively smooth trip but I would advise for a car with a slightly higher ground clearance for the trip after the main road. Jacques was awesome and accomodated our every request during our stay. Definitely worth every penny and we would highly recommend the stay.

Our stay at this guest house was nothing short of magical. My wife and I, along with our two Boston Terriers, celebrated our first wedding anniversary here in Val, where we also got married. The setting is serene and idyllic, with large trees, lush green grass, and the peaceful presence of cows and a donkey named 'Valie', grazing nearby. Sitting on the large patio and watching squirrels play under the trees added a charming touch. The vintage, farm-inspired decor makes the space feel cozy and inviting. We loved how relaxing it was, and being just a short walk from the Val Hotel was a bonus. We dined there twice, and the home-made burgers and pizza were absolutely delicious! This guest house offered us the perfect blend of relaxation and nostalgia. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway!

Was a beautifull stay and gorgeous location

The property was beautifully maintained, clean, and comfortable. The hosts were incredibly responsive and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding area, and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. However, I did want to mention one area for improvement - the gravel road leading to the property. While it's not a major issue, it can get quite dusty and bumpy. I Take the shower is a tricky one mistake the bus home could be flooded as they don’t have shelter and a toilet downstairs would be convenient but I would highly recommend considering upgrading to a tar road to make the approach more comfortable and visually appealing. Despite this minor quibble, our stay was fantastic, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. Five stars from us!

Dawid was a fantastic host. Helpful and understanding. The cottage was fantastic and convenient for a wedding hosted at the Nut Farm venue. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout the cottage. We felt safe and relaxed. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Had a fantastic stay! The home was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. What made it extra special were the morning walks with our dogs in the beautiful surroundings – plenty of trails and fresh air. The location is peaceful yet convenient, and the host was welcoming and responsive. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and enjoy some quality time with their furry friends!

We had a lovely stay enjoyed the bon fire and the braai lovely sunset and the bath was a real treat.

This place is amazing. There is staff that come in every day to clean and they even packed out wood for us to use in the fireplaces! Such a nice place to go for a quick getaway an hour out of Johannesburg!

Our stay at Rose’s place was exceptional. Rose was extremely communicative and responsive. The pictures truly do not do it justice. The house is huge and perfect for a large group. Every room was extremely spacious and well appointed. The kitchen was fully stocked with the best crockery, cutlery and cookware including an entire set of Le Creuset. The place was spotless and beautifully furnished. The attention to detail was unbelievable including embroidered gowns for all guests with slippers. The cherry on top was the incredible assistance we received from the staff who live onsite who ensured the house was always spotless and attended to. In addition, they also set the table every morning and evening comparable to a boutique hotel. We will definitely be back.

We had the most glorious weekend at at Owl House celebration a friend's upcoming nuptials. The house is magnificent. Beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean. Pristine big kitchen. Multiple seating and dining areas and a pool. My daughters wanted to ride the horses. Trish came and took them out herself. The resident staff and professional, warm and hard hardworking. Nothing was too much to ask of them. A wonderful home for an extended family or friends get away! We will be back. Thank you Trish

We felt very comfortable in this accommodation. Sue and Norval made us feel at home and were extremely accommodating. Nothing could have been better. The resort is very quiet and you have the opportunity to come across animals everywhere. Perfect for simply coming down and recharging your batteries. The two of them furnished the cottage beautifully and absolutely nothing was missing. The communication was great and we had very precise instructions on how to find the accommodation. A wonderful stay!
