Lovingly restored in 2020, the guest room is self contained and absorbs the morning sun. Pohatu is located beside the Waimata River, on a 3000m2 section surrounded by mature trees and gardens which afford privacy for sitting outside with your favourite beverage. Wainui beach is a fantastic location with surfer like atmosphere. The house was elevated from the sand but 10 stairs away. House has very high ceilings making it seem huge! The living areas face the beach. We had 3 couples staying and it was perfect.

Friendly Host,We apprciated the bread & milk.Fully equipped kitchen,awesome shower,comfy couches. Hot tub was a bonus.Owners do live above so naturally there's noise ,but didn't bother us.Our only problem we had was that the bed was to firm for our liking but other than that great stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. It has an excellent location, with the beach and boardwalk across the road. The size and rooms were generous for our needs. We stayed 3 weeks and any requests we made were very promptly dealt with by Crystal. We hope to return in the future
