Oh my goodness! What an oasis. Dubuque is an absolute gem!. The only think you could even consider giving 4 stars for us Accuracy and that’s only because it’s EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL IN PERSON. I can’t thank Chris and Duncan enough for sharing their home with us. There is no where on the property that isn’t stunning. Everywhere you look their is another beautiful feature ( even when you walk out the front door you look up to the Verandah and it has beautiful detailing on the back of it). We had some family photos taken on the property. We feel so privileged that a place with such history and beauty will now be a part of our little family history. Chris and Duncan were both so so accomodating especially with our kids running around. The love and work that has been put into the home is evident and we absolutely loved the extra touches of the photos and back story of the property so we could see how far it’s come. An absolutely magical stay. Thank you again ❤️

We had an amazing stay at Jessica and Michael’s place – it’s a hidden gem nestled in the winery with beautiful landscapes all around. The whole family, especially the kids, absolutely loved it. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and always ready to help. The kids had a great time feeding the horses, which was such a special experience for them. Jessica was kind enough to give us extra time for check-out, which we really appreciated. We would definitely love to come back again!

Staying at Amberesque is more than just finding a place to sleep; it's an experience in its own right. Amber curates a bespoke stay, going above and beyond to ensure guests feel truly valued while making their time in Rutherglen unique and memorable. From the thoughtful welcome cheese platter and beverage on arrival to tailored breakfasts and personalised recommendations for local gems, every detail is designed with care. I especially loved the winery suggestions and bike ride on the towns purpose built bike trails through the surroundings & vineyards. The small touches, like bath suds from local suppliers, and the history of the accom being the old bank just add to the charm. I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the ambiance, listening to vinyl records, and savoring a glass of red in the evenings—it was pure bliss. I can't recommend Rutherglen enough as a weekend getaway destination, with Amberesque as the perfect base to make your getaway that little bit more special.

Fabulous stay! Kim is a brilliant host and the lodge is fantastic. Great room with a comfy king bed with luxe linen and towels . nicely appointed and a lovely big bathroom . The lovely Kim made us a yummy dinner and we enjoyed the huge common lounge area with the cozy fire and stylish furnishings. Highly recommend

The accommodation host, Terry, was very welcoming, generous and willing to assist guests and make them feel right at home. We stayed only one night sleeping in extremely comfy beds then enjoyed a light breakfast provided by Terry. Very easy access and parking at the door. Beautiful gardens with gorgeous crimson rosellas feasting at dusk. A crackling combustion fire added to the character and charm. A perfect location for our needs. Thanks Terry

Loved our stay at Jenni’s cottages. Such a lovely spot, we wished we could have stayed longer. Lovely surroundings and excellent place to stay. The cottage was stocked with extra treats including our bacon and eggs for breakfast, but lots of added extras to make our stay so comfortable.

Pam and John were amazing hosts, we had our 1 year old bernese mountain dog with us and we absolutely loved staying with them. Our room was great and we had plenty of room to stretch out and relax. Breakfast was brilliant and we enjoyed getting to know Pam and John! Our puppy had an amazing time with their 3 Bernese too which was awesome to see! Overall if you're passing through you won't regret staying with them!

We had such a lovely stay at Tarni’s place! The property is stunning, with beautiful gardens, a bbq area, several places to sit and relax. The room was bright, super clean and cosy, bathroom pristine as well. Tarni went above and beyond as a host - lovely tour of the property on arrival and beautiful breakfast provided in the morning! Highly recommend a stay here! We’ll definitely be back!

Ronelle and James’ property is an absolute gem and a beautifully relaxing experience. Ronelle provided excellent information before the stay, including an extensive list of local recommendations and tips which I really appreciated. The house and room is impeccably clean and perfectly stocked with all the essentials and thoughtful touches for the relaxing getaway I was looking for. The view at the property is something else entirely and I could’ve sat on the veranda just staring out into the fields/mountains all day. One of a kind experience, I will definitely be booking again and telling everyone about this place. Thank you for sharing your beautiful oasis with us.

The place and the view was incredibly beautiful. Had a really fun time, would love to come back. The location was perfect, we saw kangaroos right at our doorsteps. Loved the interior of the suite. The night sky looked amazingly beautiful from this location. This place is a must visit with your family or friends.

This location was conveniently located near my friends, especially as there’s not a lot of options in the area. It’s peaceful, pretty, cluttered with beautiful cultural pieces. The outdoor deck area is lovely to sit in and relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine. Dany is very hospitable and seems to love hosting. You have to share the bathroom with three other rooms, and if you’re in the single room, it’s on the other side of the house so a little bit awkward but you could stay in one of the other rooms closer. For my trip it was a good place to sleep while I hung out with friends at their place, so worked well for me. It’s definitely not the place for you if you want to be on your own and left alone, but even the single room felt lovely and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay. Thanks Dany!

Deano was a character and not what you would expect (tattooed older guy in singlet and thongs) but was really helpful and friendly. lovely location on the hill next to the old asylum. room was large and spacious.

Tarni and Clive are wonderful hosts. Their guest house was lovely and warm on a very cold and wet winter weekend. Clive makes home made bread, a delicious treat at breakfast time. Very comfortable with dining room and separate lounge, and has a large garden for a stroll. Easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and pubs - you don't need a car.

Bronnie and Neil were both amazing people and hosts. Very friendly and helpful. Made us feel right at home. Btw Neil is a great chess player so a game or two with him will definitely keep your brain active! Archie the guard dog is very cute too. Thanks and see u again!

We were booked to stay at Sharon’s house but due to illness my husband and I couldn’t go. Our son and daughter stayed instead and they were so impressed with the house and the hosts. Sharon went over and above as a host. She was so welcoming and the breakfast provided was wonderful. Thank you Sharon. We will certainly be booking in the future.

We had a fantastic weekend staying in Heathcote, Anne-Marie was very welcoming, with restaurant recommendations that were greatly appreciated after a day of bike riding.

Lovely stay at a beautiful and peaceful location. Hosts were wonderful, greeted us on arrival (as did Riley the kelpie!). Great breakfast provided. Had a very relaxing time sitting on the verandah as the sun went down, watching the cows across the paddock.

A wonderful experience at Ant's place, we were 2 female friends visiting the local wineries we were able to use the 2 bedrooms in a really private area of the house. The space was spotless, fresh linen and immaculate bathroom. A lovely outdoor seating area and fantastic location just minutes walk to the beautiful lake, as well as an enjoyable walk into the town centre for restaurants etc. Ant is a perfect host and whilst he certainly respected our privacy, we really enjoyed his company. Would certainly visit again!

Tarni and Clive are wonderful hosts. We had a very enjoyable stay at Islay House. We would highly recommend staying here. It is an easy commute up and down the V-line to the neighboring towns, there are many great restaurants and pubs, and Isla House is an easy stroll to the main street. The house is very comfortable and clean, and the fresh breads and pastries for breakfast were a special treat!
