Holiday rentals with lake access in Halifax Harbour

We enjoyed staying at Robert's fabulously decorated home. It is a unique home in a beautiful setting; it's not often we get to stay in a home with exotic birds, friendly ducks, and a dinosaur room. And Robert is an excellent host. It's a great location for seeing the area - many attractions within a 1-2 hour drive. We would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Nova Scotia.

We of 4 women going on a trip to NFLD and Evens home was our 2nd stop. WOW, what at beautiful place to stay. Both back and front can be seen with water and beautiful trees. This home was very clean and cozy. Peggy’s Cove is 10 minutes away and not far to see the Bluenose, with to see both. Would highly recommend this home.

Our trip to Nova Scotia was a special celebration for our daughter. We chose the Den of Zen for a number of reasons, all of which exceeded our expectations: beautiful setting on a lake; clean and modern interior; an elixir of natural light from a wall of windows; use of great amenities such as a sauna, hot tub, and grill; close to Halifax/airport and easy access to routes for day trips; and comfortable beds. What was remarkable was the incredible hospitality of our hostess, Shelley, who made the trip THE best by offering attraction suggestions and keeping in touch to answer our questions. She was so attentive. We highly recommend a stay at the Den of Zen!

Kelly & Doris were so accommodating, and helpful. We had the absolute best time during our stay. The property is stunning, and very well kept. Our children loved having the playground across the pond to play at. Waking up there every morning was so peaceful. We will cherish the memories we made at this private little oasis.

I do not have a lot of experience with Airbnb so I did know what to expect. This home and my interactions with the owner Deanna, exceeded my expectations. We needed a large place for our family as we where gathering for a sad event. We all fell in love with the house and Hubbards, any questions where responded with promptly. Deanna was always interested in helping and making our stay a positive one. I could not ask for a more gracious host and would love to stay here again. You can rent this home with complete confidence. If Airbnb ever needs an ambassador, Deanna could be it.

Great place! Stunning views of the lake!!

Extraordinary property with expansive windows overlooking the lake and a stunning deck for enjoying the view. The interior was both comfortable and stylish, with tasteful designer touches throughout. Outside, the gas fire pit and string lights created a magical setting for evening s’mores. Beds were incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The hosts, Vicky and Steve, were responsive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Note: the steep, unpaved driveway requires AWD—it wasn’t an issue for us and actually added a sense of adventure. There is an alternative place to park vehicles midway for non-AWD vehicles. The only downside was unexpected construction on the lot next door starting Monday, which brought some loud noise. An excavator was moving boulders to clear out space to build a house. Vicky and Steve handled it quickly and graciously with alternative options. Aside from that, the stay was absolutely wonderful.

We had a fantastic weekend staying at Karen and Dan’s! This is the second time that we go as a group of friends to unwind and have a relaxing weekend together at their place. We loved having a campfire by the water and getting to use the hot tub. We look forward to being there again!

Was exactly what we wanted, outside of the hub bub but close enough to the city to do everything we wanted to do.

Fantastic and peaceful stay! The place was exactly what we needed—clean, quiet, and surrounded by nature. A perfect spot to relax and unwind. Highly recommended!

We needed space that was convenient to our relatives and this fit the bill exactly. I'm sure it would be even nicer in the spring/summer/fall with the lake views. We didn't really use any of the facilities except the bedroom/bathroom which were excellent . Good parking, good location.

Great place

This is a nice place, very comfortable mattress, with well equipped kitchen, and a big plus is a super firm sand beach and Lake Charlotte boat ramp close by. Had an excellent 3 nights here. We recommend The Diner char grilled burger a few minutes east of Webbers Store (which is currently closed) which gives this 2nd floor apartment and deck considerable privacy.

Beautiful basement suite with full kitchen, bathroom with toiletries, washer and dryer and a lounge room with streaming services and cable. Lovely setup with separate entrance for privacy, easy to find and easy instructions to get in. Snacks, juice and bottled water also provided. Would recommend. Only thing that would’ve been nice to have on hand would be a fan for the bedroom and a hair dryer, otherwise everything was great.

Victoria has created such a cozy and welcoming space with an absolutely gorgeous view. Everything is spotless and pristine, the bed was super comfortable, and she has provided all you need for a home away from home. We enjoyed meeting her very sociable chickens and were able to truly relax in between our runs into Halifax for fabulous food, and a quick trip to Peggy’s Cove. Although our stay was brief, we had a simply marvelous time. Thank you so much, Victoria!

The host was amazing. friendly helpful and supportive. The airbnb itself is absolutely stunning. Great view of the lake, local enough tot everything in Halifax, clean spotless and brand new. I have been at a few Airbnbs where they give you limited stock and you have to run out and grab more yourself, not here, we ran out of nothing and everything was perfect. My mother in law uses a walker and she could just zip around with all the space. HIGHLY Recommend, we had family swing by and they all wanted to know the host so they could share it with others.

We had a lovely stay at Melanie's cottage. The cottage was very spacious, clean and had absolutely everything that we needed. (bottle of wine was a nice touch) Melanie was very responsive to our questions and responded right away. The cottage is on a busy street but is relatively quiet when you are on the beautiful front deck. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the area.

We had an excellent time at Birchwood. The cabin is cozy and clean and the property is well maintained. The location is incredible, right on a beautiful lake with lots of privacy. The owners are friendly and accomodating. Can't recommend enough.

My best friend and I stayed here with our kids and had a wonderful time! The view is amazing and we all enjoyed the wood fired hot tub very much. Plenty of bathrooms and space to hang out especially with two young kids. We would definitely book in again!

We had a great stay, perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Check-in was easy and all the info we needed was provided, the actual cabin had a nice covered in deck with chairs and a BBQ, inside there was lots of cups, plates and cookware provided; even some board games on top of the fridge worth checking out, along with kids books & adult books too, lots of extra blankets and a beautiful propane fireplace (and heat pump! + eclectic heat) so no worries of being cold haha. There's a nice park across the street from the Airbnb that'd be perfect for a summer picnic, plus a campfire spot with chairs next to the Airbnb, overall a nice spot and well kept.

Beautiful secluded little gem, very quiet and private without feeling isolated. Host Sara was clear and fast in response and was there if we needed her without being over involved, exactly what we want on a holiday. WiFi worked like a charm (I know, what's a cabin in the woods without being glued to your phone!) and the hot tub was an absolute treat. Dog friendly, my pups enjoyed exploring and sitting under the shade of the trees. Beach was close and Windsor just a short drive away. Excellent location and we would definitely stay again.

this truly is one of those hidden gems on the south shore. fire pit by the water, the pool, hot tub, beautiful home. you won't regret spending time at this place. we are already planning our next trip to this space.

We needed a last minute place to stay and Benjamins lovely lakehouse was available. Beautiful property on the lake with lots of activities for the family. Private and quiet, yet any amenities are close by. If we are in the area again we would definitely come back!

Our stay at Seafarers Hideaway was a truly memorable experience. The property has one of the most beautiful views we have ever encountered and it is extremely well appointed. They have thought of everything guests will need to have an enjoyable stay. The kitchen and pantry are very well stocked as well as the bathroom. We absolutely loved the fireplace and enjoyed most evenings by the fire. When weather permitted we enjoyed the outdoor fire area and used the bbq most nights. The muskoka chairs are perfectly situated on various parts of the property and we enjoyed looking at Peggy’s Cove with the binoculars provided. We would highly recommend this property as it is an hours drive to Halifax, Lunenberg and Peggy’s Cove, with much of the drive along the ocean. We would love to return someday and treasure our first experience in Nova Scotia at Seafarers Hideaway. Krista and Ken
