Holiday rentals with lake access in Herkimer County

This was our fifth year coming up to Camp David. I don't even look for another place because we know that this is our "home away from home" for a few super relaxing days. Everything you need is there. Very quiet and private. Always a great escape here. And Mike is extremely responsive and accommodating. Can't wait until next year.

We always enjoy our time in Old Forge, this was our first stay here and it will not be our last. We loved everything about the Lilly Pad. the location was perfect, near town but not in town. the space was large enough for our party of 5. Was just enough space to spread out but feel cozy. We enjoyed using the kayaks and the scenery. Thank you Rick and Sacha for sharing your lovely space!

Hubby and I love this peaceful oasis, away from the hubbub of Old Forge, but conveniently close, and allowing for plenty of walks through the lovely Hollywood Hills neighborhood. Stayed here 2 years ago for a week, and knew our experience would be just as good - which it was! We were able to enjoy some beautiful Fall days from the comfort of the upper front deck, and relax in the Adirondack ambiance indoors the rest of the time. Well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and bedding, a dual-reclining loveseat allowing us to enjoy the large Roku TV, and a complimentary bottle of wine, all helped to make Pawnee Reverie our favorite ADK stop… and the visitations by grazing deer sure didn’t disappoint either! As in the past, our hosts were exceedingly quick and happy to respond and help in whatever way we might need, even accommodating our need for flexible arrival and departure times. All in all - we WILL definitely return!

Great stay! Had a great time. Didn’t realize how far it was from the snow Mobil place we rented but made it a fun journey! Would recommend and would come back again!

The location of this house is amazing. You can easily walk to town. Views were incredible. The deck was cozy and spacious. House was just as described. Rick and Kelly were wondeful hosts. We would def come back and stay here again.

Peaceful retreat In beutiful Old Forge to spend Father’s Day weekend. We felt right at home and enjoyed the grill, fireplace and the majestic view. Extremely quiet and peaceful, highly recommend!

It was the perfect location between the ski lodges: Snow Ridge and McCauley Mtn. The rooms were cozy and the kitchen was the perfect size for cooking dinners.

Lucy was a fantastic host—warm, responsive, and always available to answer our questions. The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and equipped with all the comforts of home. Nestled in a serene setting, the property offered a peaceful retreat with a charming yard where our grandkids enjoyed playing lawn games. We especially loved kayaking on the nearby lake and watching the local wildlife. Our stay at the lake house was truly memorable—a perfect vacation in every way.

We absolutely loved the Boathouse and felt like we had our own private outdoor space. The place was actually bigger than I expected from the photos. We wished we had access to the kayaks that belonged to the main house and that the WiFi was better. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay.

Tracy was a great host and very communicative! If we are ever in the area again we’d love to book with her again.

#3 at Trout Brook. Was perfect. Tom met us and gave us thorough instructions and told us where the best places to go eat were. Everything was clean and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook meals.

Our host was very responsive, responded to texts immediately, met up with us when it was convenient to explain everything we needed to know. Very friendly. The commute to the Dreams Park was easy but took 30 minutes (for those staying for the Baseball tournament). Plenty of places nearby to get food. Everything was there at the home that we could think of that we needed except laundry detergent. I left the one I purchased so hopefully the next guests pay it forward. The only slight complain I could even have and it’s not even a complaint but more if a heads up, the AC in upstairs room had a very dirty filter. We removed the filter and then AC worked great. There were also a ton of spiders which is to be expected being right next to lake but maybe the cleaners could do a once over sweep of the spiders each week before new guests arrive. Our kids had a blast with all of the kayaks and we loved that all the xtra water amenities were provided. 4.98 stars out of 5 for me!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this property, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! From the moment I booked, the host was incredibly responsive and helpful, providing detailed instructions and answering all my questions promptly. The property itself was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. It truly felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect, situated in a quiet neighborhood but still close to all the attractions and amenities I wanted to explore.

This cabin is absolutely beautiful, and Salvatore is a phenomenal host! We had a fantastic trip! The cabin is even cuter than the photos and we can’t wait to come back.

Very quaint cottage. Wonderful location overlooking the lake. A spot to unplug and enjoy nature. Jon was a great host and very knowledgeable about the area and willing to give recommendations.

You cannot go wrong staying at Covewood on Big Moose Lake. The cottages are adorably comfortable, the staff frienly and helpful and the area has more hiking, biking and paddling than you can shake a walking stick at. Highest recommendations for a classic ADK getaway.

We loved our stay! It was very peaceful. We stayed in the beginning of the week so had the place to ourselves. Kitchen was very well stocked. Shower was brand new and plenty of room. I took the kayak out and saw mama loon out with her babies. There was plenty of boats or sup to pick from. We loved sitting by the fire on our last night!

We had a wonderful time at the lake, despite the rainy weather! We had fun fishing & playing board games in front of a warm fire. We'd love to return!

We had a wonderful stay at Nokomis Cottage in Old Forge for Father’s Day weekend! The location was beautiful — quiet, scenic, and close to everything. The cottage itself was exactly as advertised: clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable for our family. Kathleen was an exceptional host — extremely responsive, informative, and made sure we had everything we needed for a smooth stay. The instructions provided were clear and easy to follow, and parking was simple and conveniently located. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

What a charming cabin on the lake, it is quite rustic, but it adds to the charm. Our host Timothy was quite honest on the weather and the possibility of cold nights. But Timothy set us up for success there’s plenty of bedding to keep you nice and warm at night and wood to build a fire to fight off the cold. The kayaks were super fun.

Great location. Close to everything downtown has to offer. The house was spacious and we had a great stay.

Hands down one of the best airbnb stays and hosts! Wanted to spend my husband’s birthday at the Buddy shack and happened to mention that to Brandon before the stay. When we checked in, baked chocolate cake, ice cream, a gift bag, a birthday card and a beautiful handwritten note were waiting for us. Above and beyond doesn’t even begin to describe this gesture! And there are thoughtful touches around the house that made us feel right at home. Communication was excellent. Felt like I was chatting with a friend. Tried two restaurants that they recommended and both could give the NYC restaurants a run for their money! The property is beautiful. Enjoyed excellent weather and quiet time by the lake. Overall, I highly recommend the Buddy Shack. You will return with wonderful memories and a full heart!

Everything was exactly as described- the bathroom was spotless, we had all the kitchen supplies we needed, and Barb was quick to respond to anything we needed. The property is private and beautiful, and our favorite part was using the paddle boat on the lake. It’s close to many adorable communities and many trails of different difficulties. We would love to stay again !
