The private lodging "Miyakonoseki" is located near the "Miyakonosonokori Castle Ruins", which was the main castle of the Ito clan that ruled Hyuga about 500 years ago. The name of the inn, "Miyakonoseki", is a brand of shochu that was brewed until my grandfather's generation. Miyakonoseki can accommodate up to 8 people in 4 private rooms: "Hikoboshi", "Orihime", "Yoshitsu", and "Asahi". Reservations are required, but you can experience making bacon using local brand meat. The dishes made with that bacon also taste delicious The cuisine is popular for its use of fresh ingredients from Saito and seasoning with homemade miso and persimmon vinegar. Also, if you cook and eat together, you can make nostalgic recipes such as local dishes as souvenirs. You can also split firewood and boil it in the bath. Although shared, there are 2 toilets and 3 washrooms that can be used freely. The house was built in 2005 and has 3 bedrooms but the first floor has been partially renovated in October 2024. There is an outside deck that has panoramic views over famed surfing mecca of Kanegahama beach. Bedding is one queen, one double and two single beds. There is also a futon mattress that can be used if needed (it is not as comfortable as the beds!). As this house is in a residential area, we ask all guests to refrain from making loud noise/music outside, especially after dark.
