Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Idukki

Varun’ place was a well-run small hotel right on the shore of the backwaters in Kerala. There was a pool, many different areas to relax with a book. Canoes were available to paddle down stream. Varun was very helpful in arranging transportation for us, recommending activities and pointing us in the direction of a special art biennale which happened to be taking place in Kochi while we were there. The restaurant had a nice blend of Indian, continental with vegetarian options. We are planning on staying here on our next trip and highly recommend it. Gregory and Michèle

Dafür danke ich sehr! Ich habe den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und mich wie Zuhause gefühlt, worauf ich sehr viel Wert lege. Für Binkys Gastfreundschaft bin ich sehr dankbar und ich bedanke mich für die Tees und Kaffees, die sie mir liebevoll zubereitet hat. Ich kann die Unterkunft herzlichst empfehlen. Der Außenbereich ist wunderschön und gibt dem Aufenthalt eine besondere Note.

Female travelling alone in India and fear not, the people here made me feel so safe and welcome. The constantly smiling cleaning lady , Edison for his amazing knowledge, Prakash for tending to everything & helping me plan my trip to Munnar, and the chef, my god the food was amazing!!! I wrote down the recipes for almost everything I ate ♥️ Would love to bring my family next time:) 🇮🇳♥️🙏

Our short stay at Neelakurunji luxury rooms was highlighted with superb hospitality from Jiyash and his team of very sweet people (Notably Ebin and Akil). They took care of all our needs, including picking us up from a particularly far location where we were dropped, serving us very tasty food (in large quantities) and so on. They even showed us around a little bit as we were on our way to be dropped off after our stay. It was the end of August and hence there were not many people in the vicinity, but that was what we were looking for and so we were extremely thrilled. The view from the plantation and from all the rooms are breathtakingly beautiful (with clouds passing through your room occasionally). The location is quite remote and so one will need to be picked up and dropped by the staff. Overall the experience here was beautiful, marked with supreme hospitality from a capable and sweet staff.

This was the outstanding homestay in our two month trip to India. The location was absolutely superb – both our room with its floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the beautiful green valley or our private outside terrace with the same views, or the rooftop terrace where we could watch the Sun rising on the mountains or setting behind them (where we did our morning exercise): all were truly magnificent. The location was a far enough away from Munnar (and the main road) so that it was peaceful but close enough to be convenient for all the activities there. Everywhere was truly spotless, bedlinen changed every couple of days, and filtered water freely available. Best of all was the delightfully homely atmosphere created by Telna, Reni and all of the other family and staff who were extremely friendly and very helpful. Reni, in particular, had masses of very helpful local knowledge and could organise brilliant trips and excursions and local transport. The local breakfasts were particularly delicious. I would very strongly recommend this homestay.

What Sarah and Morden have built is very impressive and Sarah a brilliant cook. Clean lodge with wildlife surrounding - great bird (and monkey) watching. Just be aware location is very remote (as mentioned) and can get a bit cold at night. But hosts went above and beyond - giving us lifts and organising transport. Glad to be supporting all the work they do for stray dogs!

We really enjoyed our stay here and eventually stayed six nights. From your window you only see tea plantations (even though the place is not completely in nature as pictures make you think). The place is cheap, quiet and simple. Expect basic comfort. The host is super caring and we had super interesting talks with him, food is simple and tasty. The place was hard to leave: we started to feel like home :)

A Memorable Stay near the lake in Alleppey. Our stay near in Alleppey was truly wonderful! The hospitality of host was exceptional—they were warm, caring, and gave us great recommendations for nearby places to explore. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. One of the highlights was enjoying breakfast by the lake, which was absolutely amazing. They serve delicious Kerala-style food, offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Every meal was a treat, making our stay even more special. If you’re visiting Alleppey, I highly recommend this place for a memorable and relaxing getaway!

The location was superb! . A completely serene place with only sounds of chirping of birds in a lash green surroundings and aroma of tea plants. In the evening, clouds come down to meet you at your door step. They offered good homely food. Sreejith and his team of ever-smiling staffs were amazing! They took excellent care of us! The owner of this plantation stay Mr. Rajesh has been a wonderful host!

My father and I had such a lovely stay here! Beautifully clean rooms, a wonderful welcome and a delicious breakfast. Also the best night’s sleep we’ve had in India yet. Thoroughly ecommended!

As I was taking my young kids to India for the first time, I was apprehensive, especially since it was the rainy season in Kerala. David made our stay easy to coordinate and was helpful in all aspects. The peaceful area and quiet surroundings are a great location to unwind and plan other trips within the country, as was our case. David and his wife made us feel at home and were always cordial, quick to answer our questions, and always available. I would return to David's place and highly recommend it to anyone. An fantastic location.

Thomas was a great host for Malayalam Lake View Resort. The place was exactly like the pictures uploaded. It was peaceful and easily accessible. Lots of local places to explore around. Plus Thomas helps with great local recommendations.

Literally HOMEstay - very wonderful minds in this hidden place are to be found! Helped us with all kind of issues and arranged a just perfect one day canoeing trip. Really made us feel all over relaxed in this (much more than expected) noisy little town.

best private property that I have ever stayed and literally felt like home and care taker eshawaran was really active and good at taking care of everything from the beginning to end and a friendly atmosphere too only one thing is that the roads to reach the property If u guys like to travel through some off road or jerking roads u will definitely find it so valuable and expectations will be satisfied while reaching there. The host honey is really a wonderful woman who continuosly made communication to ensure that everything is 💯 satisfied.

The stay at judit home was a special wonderful experience. The property is located in the middle of nature and yet close to the nearest town. Judit was always very helpful in organizing day trips. If you are looking for pure relaxation in nature, this is the place for you. The father of judit has a very good knowledge of agriculture and the mother is a great cook. The kerala cuisine was unique. There is a very friendly atmosphere in the house

Staying at this ecostay in the heart of a spice garden was a truly wonderful experience. Surrounded by lush green leaves, the place offers a peaceful and refreshing retreat. The hospitality of the host, Uncle and Aunty, was exceptional—they were incredibly sweet, and we enjgoyed talking to them. The staff was also very helpful, making our stay even more comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. One of the unique highlights was the cardamom plantation within the property, adding to the natural charm. If you’re looking to escape the hustle of Thekkady, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Waking up to the sounds of birds made our mornings even more delightful. Highly recommended for nature lovers!

Sinu’s place was spectacular. As a host he is very responsive and great at communicating. He gives a-lot of time and effort in attending the guests personally which is impressive and important when you come for an experience in an offbeat place like this amazing beach place. Was able to do a-lot of activities learnt a-lot about the place because of him. The property stands out, neat clean and easy to reach. The cooks there is a gem and the staff is so helpful and friendly Overall worth every single penny!

It's a nice new house. Very neat and clean. Host stays in the ground floor and all the three rooms are on the first floor. There is spacious living room and balcony in the front and back, both with scenic views. Vijeesh is a good host who is always available on call and very helpful. He also offers tasty home made food at an additional but nominal charge. This place is highly recommendable and we will love to come back again in the future.

Best place to stay .

Amazing stay with great food! Away from the hustling city, this spot is highly recommended for a perfect getaway. The room I chose had a private terrace with amazing mountain view. The caretakers were really helpful and kind and they ensured all our needs are addressed on time. The host was also very responsive making sure everything is comfortable for us. Definitely recommended!

After a couple of long hot weeks on the western part of Kerala, I felt I really needed to cool down in ‘The Shade’ for a couple of days. And what a beautiful location to do so! I’m sure there’s a lot of activities to do in the area, but I just took all the time to relax on the balcony with the most stunning view and took a good walk just one day. The property is relatively off the grid, but for me that was exactly the purpose. Sandosh was most humble and accommodating and his wife Maya cooks the very best local cuisine. Oh my Shiva! Really, what a soul warming food comes out of that kitchen each and every time! The room and adjacent were very spacious, the bed comfy, and a lot of care is taken for details. Like the complimentary items and how the food was served. I felt like a king!
