we enjoy coming back yearly, this is a good vilibe resort. Kids can play in the pool, lagoon or head over to the beach. it's on the lagoon, so expect beach sand everywhere bit the do cater for it with water tibs to clean your feet at the doors communal sharing means the amenities are there for everyone to use, which also means you socialize with your neighbors (or dont) we love the experience, dog friendly and will definitly be coming back

Prawn hatchery was not what we expected. this is more a well planned and laid out resort. the attention to detail to make it look rustic was amazing. it's community living, with so many pools and hot tubs spread out on the resort we never felt over crowed even with a full camp. to get to the ocean is a small boat ride or at low tide you can walk across to a proper private beach. kayaks are available to paddle across to the beach or just float around the lagoon. I highly recommend this place. We will make it a routine stop from now on.

The Hatchery is a special mix rustic and relaxing. Perfect for a relaxing holiday in the sun! We stayed in the Pumphouse, which was perfect for the 2 of us. En-suite and with Aircon - which was a life saver for the warm evenings! The water is safe for drinking, but we preferred to use bottled water. I would suggest bringing water and ice, along with groceries for meals. There is a fridge in your room, and a well stocked shared kitchen. All in all an awesome couple of days! Just a reminder - if you’d like to enjoy the wood fire hot tubs, have patience. It takes about 4 hours to heat.

Breakfast is available at the guesthouse at an additional cost of R130 pp. Please note that there is a flight of 24 stairs to gain access to the cottage.

Such a cool place, rustic but super clean and well kept. Quiet, peaceful and loads to do. Matthew even took us on a guided MTB tour. Highly recommend!!
