Holiday rentals in Improvement District No. 13

The moment we arrived we felt at home. The long driveway through the trees was exciting. Then you arrive at a beautiful log house, surrounded by trees & total privacy. Entering the house brought back so many memories from our childhood. The furniture, tv, Nintendo (love duck hunt) & the VCR with a great selection of movies. We are a family of 6 with dogs. It’s very hard to find a place where you have space & privacy. The yard was great for the dogs to run around. The walking trails go for miles, so much fun exploring. I can go on & on. Thank you Kaila & Cory for sharing your home with us during this hard time. We truly appreciate everything you did for us during our stay. Can’t wait to come back.

We liked the house very much, probably the best equipped kitchen i have ever seen in an Airbnb. Jacqueline is supernice, the first night she had an event with friends and she invited us to diner and drinks. The house is very close to the westgate of the Elk Island National Park, which was ideal for us, as we wanted to see bisons. We would come back anytime :)

5 Plus Stars – A Hidden Gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed—there was a personalized welcome sign and a lovely thank-you card waiting for us. The cabin itself was absolutely immaculate: cozy, warm, and inviting. Every detail was thought of, from the extremely clean space to the incredibly comfortable beds. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to cook our meals, and we spent our evenings snuggled up on the couch, fully enjoying the peaceful, homey atmosphere. Cheryl went above and beyond—after a big snowfall, she made sure a path to the walking trails was cleared for us and even set up a fire pit, complete with firewood. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the stay even more special. This cabin is a true hidden gem. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and just relax, this is it. We’ll definitely be returning. The entire experience was 5+ stars!

It was the perfect place for a girls weekend. Though there was a fire ban at the time, Kim’s place still offered us plenty of activities, such as patio hangouts, board games, chance to watch soapy romantic comedies, beautiful short walks in the area and accessibility to elk island park. The beds were my highlight, I have never slept so comfortably.

This house is was an unbelievable place of peace and serenity. It will always be a special place in my heart. Tami is an amazing person and I will always remember my time spent at the lighthouse! Thanks for everything Tami I truly couldn't say enough about this house and feel very blessed to have been apart of it.

We had a lovely time at this rental. We really liked how it felt away from the city but was also a very easy drive to all the necessities. The furnishings were high quality and it was very clean and modern. We were disappointed that the hot tub wasn't working but the host did everything they could to fix it. Hopefully they are able to get it fixed for future guests. The host was extremely helpful and responsive in communications. Overall, it was a great rental and we enjoyed our visit. If you are looking for an amazing meal nearby, we highly recommend Joey Sherwood, the service was outstanding and everything we ordered (app, mains and 2 desserts) was delicious!

WOW!!!! I can't thank Joanne and Wes enough for their perfect hospitality. There is such a difference in Airbnbs that were created for the sole purpose of generating income and those that are carefully curated with love. Joanne's place is beyond perfect if you are needing some "vitamin N" (Nature) and some peace and quiet! It was perfect in absolutely every way, and my weekend there gave healing to my soul. Wes and Joanne were absolutely perfect hosts: equally available if I needed anything and understanding my craving for solitude! Joanne shared that she and her husband had lived for a year in the cabin they are renting out, and it's evident with all the itty bitty details. This cabin is my definition of luxurious in the most beautiful surroundings. If you're a nature lover craving some solitude without isolation (and a very comfy bed) you'll fall in love with their place. Thank you for the perfect hospitality!
