Adorable cabin in the countryside

Bluebird Cottage is a quaint little haven 8km from Westport town. Its off the beaten track a little, and if you like that sort of thing and the only sounds will be mother nature's animals and birds calling out to each other in the surrounding countryside. It's a 10min drive to Westport, 1 hour to Knock Airport, Achill, Galway city and Connemara with an abundance of activates / shopping / dining on the doorstep. So we are very centrally located in the West. Peace and Tranquillity Ahoy!

Cosy Cottage

Kick back and relax in this calm, cosy space in the rolling countryside and just a 40 minute drive from Knock Airport. For something more lively there’s Westport and Castlebar, with their shops, bars and the beautiful coastline and beaches of the Wild Atlantic Way. The 2 friendly cats, Muffin and Bruce, prefer to live outside but like to say hello. When not away working, I stay in a chalet on a separate piece of land close by but not overlooking the cottage. I do respect guest privacy.

This little oasis is positioned on a south facing hill, overlooking a wide expanse of valley, tucked away from everything but yet a 5min drive from Westport Town. A wood-fired hot tub sits on the spacious deck, overlooking the valley. After bathing in the hot tub make your way up the external staircase to the balcony (which connects to the bedroom), where you can relax in the hammock and take in the amazing views.

There is dedicated office space as well and a walking closet, equipped with iron, ironing board and steamer. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room provides plenty of seating spaces. We made a last-minute booking and Sally kindly approved it. We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully decorated with a pleasant interior. We spent four nights with Martina, Larry and Ted (the friendly little dog) at their lovely cottage while visiting the Westport area for a short holiday and would happily recommend it for anyone looking to explore this amazing part of the country. Larry was there to greet us when we arrived and show us to the cottage which was very well appointed, spotless, and stocked with some breafast essentials to get us through the first morning. The next few days were packed with family activities and the location of the cottage was perfect for us to get to them all. It was also very nice to get back in the evenings and relax in a more secluded and peaceful location away from the crowds. Our stay was both comfortable and relaxing and will definitey book again when we return to the area.

Peter and JoJo are amazing hosts. They offer a warm welcome into their lovely home and add a personal touch that sets them apart, they have the right balance of friendly and kind, reminding us how to do hospitality. A great breakfast and the room was spacious and well equipped, with the added benefit of an ensuite. Definitely recommend their home as a place for a stay if you're visiting the West of Ireland
