we loved every second of our stay and could’ve definitely stayed for longer. a true gem and amazing value for money. the photos don’t do it justice! the area is stunning and ideal if you are looking to spend some time outdoors surrounded by beautiful landscapes and beaches.

Even better in person, this is a delightful apartment w/views from every room, full of natural light, well equipped and super spacious. The apartment was spotless on arrival. Each bedroom has a vanity table w/mirror, nightstands, a big closet and comfortable beds with good privacy from each other and good noise separation from the living area. Lots of counter space and modern kitchen appliances made it comfortable to cook. We took advantage of the w/d in the separate laundry room. Large foyer with space for coats, shoes and bags. Such a peaceful, quiet location, yet steps away from Brora GC clubhouse (50% off 2nd round & nice place to eat), steps from village shops and the train station, a ½ hour walk to Clynelish Distillery, and a short walk to the beach and the coastal walk to Golspie. Easy parking, well maintained building. Catherine was a pleasure to deal with. She provided detailed instructions and was quick to respond to questions. We loved it and would gladly return.

The Lookout had everything we needed and more. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and full extra little touches: Karen really has thought of everything. The location is ideal for exploring Kirkwall and beyond, and the building itself has a fascinating history. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying at Northlight Apartments.

We stayed here with our two boys for a couple of days of golf, our Christmas present to them. The flat was beautifully appointed, a bit like staying in a 5 star hotel but with more space. It was such an easy walk to the first tee, the boys couldn't have been happier. For anyone that wanted to go to the hotel for food or drinks it was very close too so really a wonderfully comfortable place to stay to play golf and get away from it all for a few days. A real treat.

Scarva is such a beautifully appointed, sparkling clean, comfortable apartment right in the centre of Kirkwall but private and quiet. It was a joy to return to after a day of exploring Orkney and other islands. The bed was comfy, as was the sofa and the kitchen was easy to cook and eat in. Everything you needed for a week away had been thought of and the welcome basket was a tasty bonus. Elaine provided clear directions about where to park, how to find the apartment and was a very responsive host when we had any questions. There was also plenty of visitor information provided. We thoroughly recommend staying here if you are wanting to explore this interesting and lovely part of the world.

Fab house, beautifully presented. Small but nicely equipped kitchen. Easy walk to big coop and lovely Stromness and all amenities. Just a few minutes from the ferry and easy to park at the property. The owners were very responsive and helpful.

Lesley was an amazing host. Very friendly and warm. Lesley also recommended local restaurants and things to do across Scotland. The place was amazing - Clean, good location, private and well provisioned. Will definitely like to visit again!

Perfect place to stay for a group of six golfers, playing at courses locally. Easy to locate and access, comfortable accommodation and conveniently located. Would book again if we repeated the visit.

Great location, very close to the ferry port and within easy reach of many Orkney attractions, yet in a quiet and peaceful side street. The place itself is one of the best I've stayed at, it was clean, bright and well equipped, with lots of nice little touches such as shortbread and fresh flowers. Host was always responsive and gave lots of useful information. Would definitely recommend.

Cosy home from home, with incredible views across the harbour. Perfect for exploring Stromness and the rest of Orkney. Really friendly and helpful host! I would definitely stay here again.

Catherine's place Is in Thrumpster a very quiet village just off the A99. There isn't much to do in Thrumpster but it is a really good stopping off point for exploring the area around Wick and John O'Groats. Greenfields Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and we enjoyed staying there.

Beautiful space. As a family we enjoyed cooking together & playing games in the evening. The hot tub was great, we used it everyday. The views from every room were amazing and it was so peaceful and tranquil. Local neighbours farmers and the wildlife were all very friendly. It was welcoming from the moment we arrived. Ideally located to visit places and a short drive into Kirkwall. Would highly recommend and define visit again. Very friendly and accommodating hosts!

Wow, what a luxurious pad! Yes, the accomodation looks like a newish build but very tastefully decorated and so comfy. Hosts were superb and Dornoch was a pleasant surprise. Great to watch the cows and sheep graze from the upstairs picture windows. One of THE BEST airbnb's we have stayed in. Highly recommended.

Aurelie and David are truly wonderful hosts! The apartment was exactly as described and shown in the pictures — no surprises, just exactly what we were hoping for. It was perfectly prepared for us in advance in the configuration we needed, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we could possibly require. The Nespresso machine was an especially appreciated touch — mornings just aren’t the same without a good coffee to start the day! We also noticed (and appreciated) the whiskey set out on the console — a lovely gesture, even though we only had a small taste. Thank you so much, Aurelie and David, for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-appointed place hosted by truly thoughtful people.

Lovely accommodation and great communication from the host

A beautifully presented property bursting with character. Massively spacious and centrally located. If I were back again I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Lisa kept in touch throughout our stay and really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We only stayed a couple of nights but it would be an ideal location for a longer stay too. The massive kitchen and dining area was the soul of our stay. We sat there and chatted around the massive table. The bedrooms were immaculate and the multitude of WCs meant no one was left dancing in the hall waiting for one to be free. The location is ideal too. It doesn’t get any more central. We really needed somewhere to base ourselves for our stay, somewhere we could retreat to and not feel like we were falling over each other and that’s exactly what we got. It’s a gem.

I can't recommend this place highly enough. It's beautifully decorated, very spacious and set in private land surrounded by fields so it's peaceful and quiet. The kitchen has everything you could need and Julie provides lots of thoughtful welcoming touches.

Booked for colleagues who were very happy and the feedback was great. Really appreciate the ease in arranging with Graeme and will definitely book again.
