This is a guesthouse for rent nestled in the quiet southern part of Yakushima, surrounded by nature. Right in front of you, a river flows, and you can enjoy a special time surrounded by the forest and the starry sky. The biggest draws are the open-air bath and the sauna. You can enjoy a unique experience of relaxing in the forest while listening to the babbling of the river only here. Let the greenery soothe you during the day, and at night, under a sky full of stars, gently unwind your mind and body. Your accommodation fee includes all of the following: ・Open-air bath and sauna (please use by 10:00 p.m.) ・Sauna poncho & sauna hat ・Towels (additional towels can also be provided) This is a stay unique to Yakushima, where you can enjoy the “luxury of doing nothing” and “time to unwind” in the midst of nature. Since it is right next to the river, you can also swim there. There is also a deck by the river that you can use for breakfast or coffee. Please relax and enjoy your stay in a location surrounded by the natural beauty and water characteristic of Yakushima. On the opposite side of the river, diagonally across, is a neighbor's yard, so it is not a completely private space.We recommend bringing a swimsuit. This sauna stove is a Japanese-made dry sauna.You can enjoy a high-temperature sauna.

A compact cottage for rent located on the Sakihara Coast in Kasari-cho, in the northern part of Amami Oshima, which was registered as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2021. Accommodates 2 people. Up to 2 adults. If you have young children, it can accommodate up to 4 people (2 adults and 2 children). If you would like to stay with 3 or 4 people, please let us know the age of your child. * In 2022, we installed a Goemon bath where you can enjoy the outdoors. * Renovated in 2021. * When coming from Amami Airport, come from the Akagi direction, and when coming from the Tebaru direction. From Naze-Akaogi, please come from the direction of Kise, using the "Sakihara Beach" sign as a guide. Sakihara Beach Kaisho has a swing, pizza oven, and home garden on the premises, and is a 30-second walk to the sea. You can also enjoy the gentle waves and the chirping of wild birds such as red-billed grosbeaks depending on the season. From autumn to winter, you can also see the Ryukyu Asagi Madara. Sakihara Coast is one of the most popular sunset beaches in Amami Oshima. The beach has a beautiful view at dusk, but after the magic hour and twilight zone, you can also enjoy the sky full of stars. You can enjoy the stars from around 9 pm in summer and from around 6 pm in winter.

Fisherman's living experience inn: Fuku no Ki

Yakushima is famous for mountains, but the sea, fish are also attractive. This inn is a bit inconvenient, but we treat you like family. And you can eat delicious fresh fish. The building is a converted fisherman's barn. We will cook fish together, heat Goemon bath with firewood, and provide you with a stay as if you were living with us. One cooking experience is included during your stay. On other days, you will stay without meals. Optional fishing boat tour (extra charge) is also available.

The Horizon was designed by award-winning architect Tomonori Waku using only local materials. It is above Banyan Kitchen, a restaurant serving local foods with international inspiration. The Horizon sits on five acres of wild forest and garden, and is an ideal base for families and groups to explore Yakushima. We are walking distance to a supermarket, other restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, a ten minute drive to world-famous Hirauchi Kaichu onsen, and a twenty minute walk to Onoiada Onsen.
