It is surrounded by four white-walled storehouses built in the Edo period and four gardens. It has been gradually renovated and revitalized (currently in the process of revitalization), including the white plaster walls and natural Kenji-ji bamboo fences.Originally an old house opened as an almost 100% inbound accommodation.We are conducting a semi open-air bath in the interior of the warehouse and renovation work centered around the water. ■ Soothing moss garden ■ There are three moss gardens: the front garden, the middle garden, and the back garden. Well water flows everywhere, including through the water fountains, the ladles, the deer scarecrows, the stream between the stepping stones, and the pond. The pond is home to koi, goldfish, medaka, tanago, and river shrimp, and is a biotope space visited by wild birds. ■ Chick-in lounge (cafe/bar space), souvenir corner ■ You can drink authentic cocktails on the first floor of the main building.There is a souvenir corner with imported interior goods, accessories, natural stone, and other items from Japan, Bali, and other overseas locations.

This accommodation is limited to one group per day and allows you to enjoy the beauty of the many islands in the Seto Inland Sea and the sunset. Designed by the host, an architect who has won numerous awards overseas. Not extraordinary, but a "delicate life" with the theme of enriching everyday life. You can experience that kind of life here. There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. If you wish, you can also dine at a counter made of pure cedar, similar to a traditional Japanese restaurant.

In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). This house overlooks Lake Nojiri and has a superb view. There are several ski resorts (Myoko, Kurohime, Madarao) about 15-20 minutes away by car, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy the wood stove sauna and the water bath with a view. There are no private houses around, so you can listen to music and watch movies loudly. Because it is a house located deep in the mountains, we take the best measures, but in the warm season, insects come out. It snows a lot in winter. In autumn, fallen leaves dance. You will also need to adjust the wood stove fire yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but we promise you a great view and experience.
