Alison’s place was perfect for two young families. Incredible location, so central to the shops and an easy stroll to the estuary. The house is really well equipped. The house is situated on top of a hill with a breathtaking view. Our families of 10 adults and 4 children spent four nights at the lodge. The house is like maze. Plenty of space for everyone. It's clean, fresh linen and towels and reliable wifi. The kitchen is very well equipped to cater for large groups. The outdoor BBQ and pizza oven were a bonus. Plenty of things for the kids too i.e. trampoline, table tennis, throwing darts and toys. Great communication from the host Daniel. He sent clear and easy to follow instructions a few days before our arrival. We want to go back again and would definitely recommend this place.

Great relaxed get away with friends. Plenty of space for 11 to eat and hangout. Decent beaches near by. Perfect for just chilling and playing games at the house. Rashika was very helpful and quick to respond. We throughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend for a big group. :)

This house is absolutely stunning. It sits on a private beach with magnificent sea views and a big deck looking out over the ocean. It’s surrounded by native bush, loads of birds and a feeling of privacy & serenity. The ocean-facing doors and windows all open up so it has a wonderful indoor/outdoor flow. There’s a lovely hot tub with a sea view too! Downstairs, there are the living spaces and upstairs, the bedrooms. The bedrooms are lovely - three large rooms with double (maybe queen or king??) beds, as well as two ‘kids rooms’ with twin beds and/or bunks. Two of the larger double rooms have private balconies & ensuites. It’s a beautiful & delightful house. Very well appointed. Perfect for a larger group, close to Matakana, Omaha and all of the lovely things to do there. We’ll be back! Five adults and six children had a wonderful weekend in Mangawhai, using Carolynn's house as our base. There was plenty of space for everyone to find their own corner, both inside and out. The kitchen was big enough for several cooks to work in at once and the dining table was big enough for us to all sit around so mealtimes were a treat, not a chore. Amazing view to the east, including sunrise across water and moonscape sand dunes. The spa at the end of the day was a special treat for our family, as was the large TV screen in the lounge. We missed a few books and board games but everything else was in good supply. Thank you for a special long weekend with my family Carolynn.

Kushla was a superb hostess. Always available. Great to bounce things off of. Quick responses. Could not ask for more. House was truly wonderful. This house did not just feel like a "place" - it felt like home. Very comfortable setting, inside and out. Beds were great. Kitchen was totally (and I mean totally) kitted out. Great central location for anything in Warkworth and surrounding beaches and peninsulas. Easy to get to anything. Put the Perry Kauri forest and the Sculptureum on your list of to-dos. And put this property very high on your wish list.

David is a friendly host who prepared the place very well and also was kind enough to provide some extras too! The location is close to everything in North Auckland so as long as you have a car it's a great place to stay!

Beautiful spot, hard to explain in words how incredibly peaceful and special this spot is. We booked last minute to get away from the city and Linda was so helpful, highly communicative and it was better than we were expecting. We are also very grateful that we could take our dog, I’m pretty sure it was her idea of heaven!

House is set amongst pohutukawa trees near the water, very pretty. Amenities were great for our group who were self catering. Lots of room for our group & the heaters keep the house cosy during the cooler evenings.

The house is just a stone’s throw away from the beach, which made it super convenient for daily trips. It was well presented, with a high standard of cleanliness throughout. You can tell the house is well-lived in, as it has every utensil and necessity you could possibly need – making it feel like home. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-equipped spot by the beach for a family. Will definitely stay again!

Very comfortable little place with a ton of nice little touches like artwork, good appliances, comfortable outdoor seating. Very close to the beach and the estuary. Even if you aren't a dog person, the dogs are so well behaved and quiet, they occasionally will visit you and you can give them a pat if you like.

I had an amazing stay at Nina’s place! The home was spotless, cozy, and exactly as described. The location was perfect—close to Matakana nearby attractions, restaurants, or conveniences, yet quiet and relaxing. The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We arrived in a storm and walking into a prewarmed house was amazing. Lots of space, sitting rooms and bedrooms as described. Open fire was lovely on our second night and sitting outside in the sun for breakfast was my favorite. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment, plates and was clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful spot with a comfortable house and outstanding pool! our family loved the great outdoors entertaining area and enjoyed our Christmas week stay immensely. Thoroughly recommend this property.

We had a great time at Denise and Mark’s place, the accommodation was excellent and if anything was even better than described. Denise and Mark were excellent hosts and very helpful both before our arrival and throughout our stay, we felt very welcome and could have happily stayed longer. We visited New Zealand as a one off from the U.K. for a wedding this time but we are very much considering a return trip next year and would definitely look to use this place as a base!

We love our stay at Greg's place. It's a great place to stay with the family who likes privacy and calming surrounding. It's close to town and beach, love the spa and pool although it was ice cold during our stay but I bet it was great on a more sunny day 😅 Overall, its worth the rate and love it!

Andrea and Mike were very kind and responsive. The couple run the place rather efficiently and respond to the customers' requests very quickly. We found that the ensuite bathroom was a little smelly and the hosts were trying all their means to eliminate the odour for us and even offered to switch to another available suite for us - surely they care for their customers. Thank you Andrea and Mike, we had a great time at the kohinui cottage! Kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, amazing place to be!

This is very nice place to stay. A quiet area with some good walks. My situation was a little different as I wasn't on holiday and wanted somewhere quiet and reasonably close to the hospital where I was visiting my husband each day. The property is off the road and there are auto gates. As I was on my own this made me feel very safe - on top of which Genevieve was in the main house a lot of the day. It was comfortable and cosy (given my stay was during the winter) and Genevieve and her husband went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Thoroughly recommend and if I ever need to be in Whangarei for any length of time I hope I can use this accommodation again.

If you want a truly peaceful, rejuvenating escape in a beautiful serene location - highly recommend Susans place. Its rustuc, kitchy, full of personality and a great respite from city life. Susan is accomodating, friendly and lets you enjoy the pond and scenery in peace. Added bonus was no cell service at the Barn so we could switch off from the world - however Wifi at Susans house was accessible whenever we wanted (which wasnt that often) and we loved being off the grid for our 3 days. Thank you Susan and Sasha it was such a delight! x

Matt and family were lovely welcoming and generous hosts. The newly renovated, incredibly large home was fantastic, situated on a large, private property up a country road. We were unfortunate to have shockingly wet weather for most of the time despite it being summer, but the spacious house with many areas to lounge and great sound system, meant we could all relax without being on top of each other. Matt aware of the bad weather set up the table tennis table for us in the large garage which entertained us heaps. And many outdoor baths enjoyed on the enclosed wrap around deck with great views. The kids enjoyed feeding the friendly chickens. The area itself is fantastic with many beaches, vineyards and lots to do, with Matakana only a short 10 min mite drive for coffee and pastry runs! We were kindly treated by Matt to some of his whitebait fritters, which I’d recommend going to the Saturday market for. Thanks Matt and family for a great stay for my family visiting from the UK.
