Tent holiday rentals in Kalahari Desert

I loved my stay at Askiesbos! I was here for a month to conduct research in Nxamasere. I arrived much later in the day than I originally estimated, but Dammann and Hettie stayed in close contact with me and Dammann was waiting for me at the gate to welcome me upon arrival. They were extremely hospitable and made me feel very comfortable during my stay. They also supported my research by allowing me to use the beautiful lounge area for some of my data elicitation sessions (not to mention providing a reliable internet connection and power source, which goes a long way in my field!). The chef, Titi, cooks fantastic food that feels like dining out at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying here for vacations or for work.

Staff was so helpful, restaurant was a welcome convenience after a long days travel!

Wenn ihr eine gute Unterkunft in der Gegend von Maun sucht, seid ihr bei Mauri genau richtig. Mauri antwortet auf alle Fragen sehr schnell und ausführlich. Mauri hat uns wundervolle Ausflüge organisiert. Ihr müsst die Ausflüge nicht selbst organisieren! Überlasst es einfach Mauri. Das Highlight war ein Helikopter Rundflug. Wir wurden vom Heli direkt vom Bell Frog Inn abgeholt. Das Team von Mauri ist sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und respektvoll. Man fühlt das gute Miteinander im Team. Die Unterkunft im Zelt war einfach, aber hatte alles was man braucht. Es war gut für die Entschleunigung vom hektischen Alltag. Besonders bedanken möchte ich mich für die Hilfe von Mauri und seinem Team, bei einem Problem mit unserer Autovermietung. Mauri hat auf uns eingewirkt, dass wir uns keine Sorgen machen müssen. Lieber Mauri, lieber Paul, lieber Allan, lieber Emanuel, herzlichen Dank für Alles und wir würden euch sehr gern wiedersehn. ♥️ P. S. Jetzt hätte ich fast die tolle Pizza vergessen. 😜

Great stay at the Bell Frog Inn! They opened the restaurant even though we were the only guests for the two days, and were always there to help us. This accomodation really is a hidden gem in Botswana, that you have to love. We also had a great Mokoro experience in the Delta, just talk to the team and they will arange everything for you. Probably the best price-value ratio of all our stops on the trip.

This is a luxury lodge in everything, and that for a normal price. Beautifull and peacefull location, not to far away from Moremi (appr 2 hrs drive) Happy to have stayed there.

Mike’s place is an absolute gem We arrived early afternoon to be greeted by Mike and his wonderful team: Samuel, Naomi and Constancia. It’s a brilliant location for preparing to go down to Sossusvlei, Swakopmund or even if you’re thinking about heading to Spitzkop. Accommodation was excellent. Samuel took us on a short Game drive which got us acquainted with some of the wildlife of Namibia: Kudu, springbok, giraffe, blue wildebeast, jackals, partridge and more. We booked dinner and breakfast. Both were outstanding. Dinner was a range of game steaks, wonderful starter and dessert Breakfast was excellent and we were treated with boerewors. Naomi & Constancia made us “padkos” (food for the road) in the morning. Much appreciated. Mike is a wholehearted, hospitable & generous host. This is a special place and great starting point as you leave Windhoek.

It was one of the greatest weekends to just relax! Caught big fish and will return for sure.... Next time, I will bring the whole family!

Die Unterkunft liegt traumhaft ruhig, perfekt zum Abschalten. Der Pool war super sauber und das Wasser glasklar – eine wunderbare Erfrischung nach einem warmen Tag. Erika hat uns abends besucht und uns tolle, persönliche Tipps für unsere Safari im Etosha Nationalpark gegeben – das war wirklich hilfreich und sehr nett von ihr. Besonders schön war auch die Outdoorküche: komplett ausgestattet, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Und nachts unter dem afrikanischen Sternenhimmel zu sitzen – einfach magisch. Ein rundum tolles Erlebnis, das wir jederzeit weiterempfehlen können!

Der Aufenthalt bei Gerald war wirklich traumhaft schön.Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.Das Zelt war sehr gemütlich und sauber.Man kann am Pool super relaxen noch einen Aufenthalt im Moremi.Wir haben im Restaurant zu Abend gegessen und können das Essen und das Personal zu 100% empfehlen.Das Essen hat super geschmeckt und war sehr preiswert.Auf der Durchreise kann man dieses Camp sehr empfehlen.Der Weg ist gut ausgeschildert und wir haben die Unterkunft sofort gefunden.
