Kuranda, home to the Indigenous Djabugay people is tucked away within an ancient Rainforest. Jum Rum Place is located only 1.6km from the Kuranda village, North Queensland backing onto Jum Rum Creek Conservation Park where there are numerous species of birds, Striped possums, Suger Gliders, Pademelons with abundance of butterflies including the Ulysses and Cairns Bird Wing. The beautiful Jum Rum Creek Walking Track is close by which takes you into the Kuranda Village, only a 15 minute walk.

Our serene abode is a 5 min drive or a pleasant 30-40 min stroll to the picturesque village of Kuranda and the mighty Barron Falls. Your private quarters contain a kitchenette, bathroom and sizeable comfortable bedroom. On the deck you can sit peacefully, relax and observe the native wildlife; red-legged pademelons, brush turkeys and small reptiles. You will be delighted with the chorus of bird song and take great pleasure in sighting vibrantly colourful tropical birdlife and butterflies.

Rest and revive in the comforts of this Queenslander home nestled in an ancient rainforest, just 5 minute walk to the famous Kuranda Village, and 25 minutes drive from Cairns. Dine in the tree tops on the upstairs deck while planning local trips to Barron Falls, bush trails, local waterholes, Kuranda Railway, Skyrail Cableway, crocodile tours, and so much more. The house is a fully equipped, self contained retreat base ready for you to explore the wonders of North Queensland.

Unwind in our peaceful self-contained guesthouse, set on 3 acres of tranquil greenery. Wake to the sound of native birdsong, cool off in the pool, and enjoy the chance to spot red-legged pademelons, striped possums and all the other wildlife surrounding the guesthouse. The guesthouse is private, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring Cairns, Kuranda, Mareeba and the Atherton Tablelands. We live in the main house on the property and are happy to assist if needed.
