Holiday rentals with beach access in Lake Illawarra

Perfect beach escape! Just a few steps from the sand and you can hear the waves from the doorstep. Super relaxing spot with everything you need, and the location couldn’t be better!

It was exactly what we needed after walking the Royal Coastal track! Thoughtful touches made us feel right at home, and the apartment was beautifully clean. We enjoyed the serene river views with plentiful birdlife which were even better for being on the first floor.

I had a fantastic experience at this Airbnb! The place was exactly as described—clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, offering helpful recommendations and making sure I felt at home. The location was perfect: close to everything, yet quiet enough for a restful night. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Top spot to gather with family and friends. Walked every where we wanted to go. Dined out one night and dined in with Uber Eats the next night. Everything we needed was on hand. We had a six month old with us and there was plenty of room for him to roll around on his rug with a roomy living area and plenty of space for everyone. Lovely balcony area with comfy furnishings to enjoy the morning sun. Thanks for a lovely time.

I had a lovely stay at Liane and John’s studio. Beautifully furnished, with lots of attention to detail. Lovely to be able to walk straight to the beach and long walkway along this coastal strip.

Gary provided a lovely little place that I found very convenient for visiting the Sea Cliff Bridge and the cliffside pubs in Scarborough and Clifton. It's got a great outlook of the sea horizon, and was free of suburban noise so that I could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean in a soft, warm bed. I only breakfasted at the accommodation, but the kitchen was well appointed, as were the other facilities. The internet was spot on. Gary was exceedingly helpful and communicative, and I can certainly recommend this listing for solo travellers such as myself looking to spend some time in relative luxury away from Wollongong. The bus north is right across the road, and the stops heading south are within easy enough walk, too.

This charming apartment is nestled in a tranquil corner, offering a serene retreat just a short stroll from the beach—perfect for morning walks. The kitchen is a delightful space to prepare meals, and the cozy balcony provides a peaceful spot to unwind. While the absence of an elevator means climbing seven flights of stairs, the proximity to local shops and restaurants adds to the convenience. Parking in the garage is a bit snug, but the overall experience is well worth it.

This is my second stay at Mick's apartment and it remains one of the best Airbnb's I have stayed in. The location is superb - easy walking distance to both the centre of Wollongong and the beach. The apartment itself has such a homely feel - fabulously decorated and really comfortable. As it is set back from the road, there is minimal traffic noise and it is very private. The weather was extremely cold over the weekend, but the heater was more than adequate to ensure a warm and cosy stay. The gorgeous balcony would be perfect to enjoy in the warmer months. The apartment was really clean and the bed was super comfortable. Everything we needed for our weekend was provided - we especially loved the Sonos speakers. Mick is a very generous and easy going host, and his communication is excellent. I highly recommend his apartment when you are visiting Wollongong!

We had a fantastic stay at Jason’s place. We loved the hot tub overlooking little blow hole and the ocean. It had everything we needed and more. Jason is very responsive and friendly, making our stay extra smooth.

The grandkids were not only allowed but welcomed in that there were toys and beach stuff there for them. We didn't need to take the portable cot as one was provided which was better and bigger than the portable one so made more room in the car. The house was very comfortable, clean and had everything that we needed. The location was perfect. Directly opposite a playground and the beach both of which we spent loads of time at. Found our new favourite picnic spot nearby, but the location will just have to be our secret. It was a very relaxing special place to be with our son and his family. Fluer also allowed our other son and his partner to visit.

We had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage! The hosts were wonderfully flexible and quick to respond, making check-in and out a breeze. The cottage was beautifully decorated, with a very comfy bed, a fully stocked kitchen, and a fenced yard perfect for our dog. Best of all, it’s walking distance to shops and the beach. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay that far exceeded our expectations. The house was incredibly spacious, with more than enough room for our family, and the bonus of having two kitchens made everything so much easier when catering for a big group. The outdoor play area was a huge hit with the kids – plenty of space for them to run around and stay entertained. The fire pit was another highlight, perfect for relaxing in the cool evening and enjoying quality time together. One night simply wasn’t enough—we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay next time. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a family-friendly, comfortable, and well-equipped getaway!

My husband and I had a lovely 6 night stay at Anita's place. It was a great place to unwind and good base for getting out and about enjoying the beaches and numerous coastal walks from Stawell Tops down to Kiama. The location is close to the beach so easy for a quick morning or afternoon swim down at the pool. The studio was very beautifully decorated and well equiped with everything you could need for a week away. Having the outdoor seating area was a great place to enjoy a cuppa and read books in the sun. We would highly recommend Anita's place.

The place was beautifully designed with lots of nice details. Mike was super friendly—he waited for us to arrive and gave us a tour of the house, which we really appreciated. The swivel chairs and fireplace were such unique touches, and the ocean view was amazing. The house was also really well soundproofed, which made it extra relaxing. We had a great stay!

This house is absolutely stunning, you will not want to leave. The view is spectacular, the inside was cosy and spacious, it looked like it was straight out of a magazine and perfect for a weekend to hang with friends. We will be back because we loved it so much! Thanks for being great hosts! We were lucky enough to get an early check-in and late check-out, which we appreciated greatly!

I was in town working on a film, Victoria is amazing and The Place! Gorgeous..you get your quiet beautiful view of the ocean and surfers. You can walk over and have a delicious meal or cocktail. I hope to come back, beautiful stay.

We felt right at home. Claudia has every convenience for a week long stay. Great kitchen and peaceful neighborhood for sleeping. It was an easy walk directly down beach road to the stunning bondi beach. Cute cafes and terrific Harris Farms grocery close by.

Glen’s place was in a great location, and he was kind enough to let me check in a bit earlier, which I really appreciated. It’s very easy to get to from the airport, and there are lots of cute cafes and dining spots in the area. I hadn’t explored this side of Sydney before and truly enjoyed discovering it. The space is small but ideal for a solo traveller or a couple who plans to spend most of their time out and doesn’t need to cook much beyond tea or a sandwich. While it’s an interior studio and faces a wall -it is surrounded by beautiful plants, including a lovely monstera, so it feels quite private and green. The washing machine is a fantastic perk, and although there are occasional announcements from the nearby centre, I didn’t find them disruptive. The only things I would tweak are the gap between the bed and the wall, which makes it a bit less comfortable when sitting up, and the lighting—I would have liked a stronger light source. Perfect for a short stay.

Strongly recommend for the stay in Sydney, especially if you are beach lover! Location super convenient to the congee and great amenities within short distance. Although we did not get a chance to nice Penny, from the conversation with her, I can feel she is a sincere host and help you along the way even before arrival. Her place is spotlessly clean and comfortable to stay.

This Airbnb is a perfect location for seeing Sydney. You can connect to any part of the city from the bus stop adjacent to the rental. The rental itself was great - everything was clean and the rental was well equipped with everything needed for a week's stay.

The Coastal Rainforest Retreat was the perfect stay, and just what we were looking for. A quick drive to restaurants and beaches. Would highly recommend!!

Amazing location we stayed last minute for one night in Bondi. Perfect for couple. You couldn’t get closer to the ocean and literally next to Bondi Icebergs. We will def be back.
