very nice experience at the cottage - kids liked it and we had lots of games and puzzles to do on a rainy day. interior stair will be remebered :) saw lots of deer and two wild turkeys every day on the gravel road to keep in mind when driving. ski is few minutes alway with a car. most of the close by restaurants (30min away) open after thursdays, so we were goint at the owls head hotel restaurant- not bad but need reservation on a busy days. overall excelent 5 day ski vacation. kuddos to the owner.

We had the most beautiful stay at the school house. You can tell the hosts put a lot of love into the place, there were so many little details to discover. The wood fire and the view onto the maple forest made for a very relaxing weekend. I am making plans to return to experience it in the summer too! Thank you Isabelle!

I've read all the previous reviews because I wanted mine to be even more special. I don't have a pen as beautiful as most of these. But all I can tell you is that it was…….PARFAIT!!! The hosts were perfect , the refuge was perfect, the place was perfect, the trails were perfect, the deer was perfect... Thank you Denis and Diane, and see you next year for sure.

We had a super stay! The house is very well laid out and everything was there for us!!

Very serene. It was lovely being surrounded by nature, especially with the sound of the creek nearby; that was very soothing.

Superb accommodation, very clean and spacious. The ground floor offers a private bedroom/living room/bathroom area which is convenient. The kitchen is well equipped. The accommodation is quiet despite the proximity to the road. And to top it off all the communication with Nathalie is excellent! We had a pleasant stay, I highly recommend this place!

Second visit in last three years. As usual, Patrick hospitality was great. We choose this house as soon as our family and friends group want to away from Montreal and allow kids to enjoy the break/holidays. This house fulfil everyone needs from 5 to 50 year old in our group. I recommend this to families and friends group to have wonderful evening and late evening dinner and talk. The village was very quite but reachable from near by towns. thanks Patrick. Hope to see you again !

The space is cozy and perfect for a nature retreat. Communication was clear and I was easily able to contact Jean-Thomas when I had trouble finding the place (in the middle of a snowstorm, I must say!). The surrounding trails are beautiful and well maintained!

The place is beautiful. It conservation of a historic building with a sketch expansion. The terraces were superb and had a view of the lake. Everything was perfect we wish we had more time at the cottage even to enjoy more. Recommended

Sophie's chalet worked out very well for our group. We were 9 guys on a golf trip and it was suitable for our needs. Sophie was very responsive when needed. If we go back to Orford I would definitely stay again

Everything was perfect! We loved our group stay. The places were big, with areas to accommodate the whole group and spaces to be more quiet.

We had a great time! Everything is well thought out in the cottage with small touches so that we can have a good time. The beds were very comfortable, full of kitchen items available. The living room was friendly. I would highly recommend.

This home was absolutely wonderful and met every single need. The kitchen was as well stocked as our own home so baking/cooking was a breeze. We loved the dining table to gather around for a family brunch and the kitchen island was a dream to work at. The entire setup of the home made it extremely easy for our family to stay organized and every homeowner needs a front entrance like this one! Will definitely be back - thank you!

We had a great weekend at this cottage! The lake view is really beautiful, you can't be closer to a lake! The place is very peaceful, no noise, very quiet, a real haven of peace to disconnect! We'll be happy to go back. 😊

We had a lovely stay in Annie’s chalet, and the chalet was great for traveling with a child. Google maps wasn’t entirely sure of the house number, but the house number was clearly marked on the exterior of the chalet. We loved the hot tub, and the bar seating in the kitchen allowed us to cook while still interacting. It was a very peaceful stay in the middle of a snowstorm, and the chalet is well-heated and cozy!

We used this chalet for a reunion of friends from university and found it perfect for our needs. The house and surroundings were beautiful, surpassing our expectations. It was far from town or restaurants, but the well equipped kitchen allowed us to cook as much as we needed. We loved using the nice deck, jacuzzi, yard, games, and kayaks to enjoy the lake experience. It was enough to keep us entertained and relaxed the whole stay. The host was nearby and very responsive although his preparations ensured we didn’t need much!

After our week-long hike as part of the Mini-compostelle Mégantic, including really bad weather, we stayed two nights at the Heron Refuge. What a joy this chalet on the edge of the lake with a spa and such a pleasant view. The interior is cozy and everyone enjoyed its friendliness. The comfort of the bedding and the little extras are to be emphasized, everything is there to cook a good dinner with friends. We enjoyed being able to observe the birds. Thank you to Simon and Marie-Christine who are excellent hosts and thank you again for the little service rendered. Go ahead with your eyes closed, we recommend it without hesitation.

A true piece of heaven! The rental is simply perfect: the chalet is impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and better maintained than any I have visited before. Every detail is designed for comfort and well-being. The lakeside setting is peaceful and enchanting, ideal for recharging. And a big thank you to Stéphane, who was always in touch with us to make sure everything was going well – his attention and availability really made a difference. An unforgettable experience. We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The house was spotless, beautifully located, and incredibly peaceful — the perfect place to relax and recharge. The view was stunning and made every morning feel magical. Communication with Yanick & Claudia was smooth, kind, and always helpful. They truly care about creating a welcoming experience. We also had an amazing meal during our stay — a delicious sirloin with fresh vegetables and salad that made the evening unforgettable. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for comfort, nature, and top-notch hospitality. We’d love to come back!
