Holiday rentals with lake access in Loch Shiel

What a stunning location and perfect house. The plate glass windows gave us a great view of the valley and loch. The bedrooms being at either end of the living space was good for privacy. Just what we were hoping for. Thank you

We have just got back from a fantastic week at The Barn in Ardfern. Cameron’s dad Phil lives nearby and he gave us lots of good tips for places to see. He was also a lovely friendly person to chat to. The Barn is very private and peaceful. Inside it is fantastically designed, comfortable, with everything we could need - a beautiful kitchen, crisp white bed linen, lovely bath and shower, and nice milk, biscuits and wine to welcome us. Places not to miss are Arduaine garden, Crarae garden, Ardmaddy garden and Crinan canal for walking or cycling. Lucy’s in the village was lovely for breakfast, lunch or coffee & cake. Just five minute walk up the hill near The Barn is a splendid view on the surrounding Lochs. We also went to Iona (book ahead with CalMac or West Coast Tours) - it was great getting the bus between ferries rather than driving. The ferries get very booked up at this time of year. Altogether we could not have asked for a lovelier week- thanks so much Phil Abi and Cameron.

This was an absolutely magical place to stay! The view is of the firth is amazing, the house cozy & comfortable, and there is a castle view just out the window. It’s so peaceful, the area so authentic & truly a special place! The bedrooms were roomy & comfy, living areas as well. Kitchen was well stocked & the bathrooms have great showers! We just loved everything about it! We hope to return!

La promesse de la vue était fabuleuse et nous avons pas été déçus. Si vous recherchez un endroit paisible et isolé, c’est l’endroit parfait. Il n’est pas parfaitement placé si vous cherchez les endroits touristiques à visiter mais le lieu se suffit à lui même pour quelques nuits et il est parfait pour se reposer et profiter du calme. Les chambres et pièces de vie sont très belles et bien décorées. Merci de mettre une belle maison comme ça à disposition.

We spent a wonderful week at Hollybank with our kids & extended family. Hollybank is situation in a beautiful Glen - it’s remote, peaceful & set amongst a stunning backdrop of mountains. We loved: - The peaceful area - Spacious/modern house - Well equipped kitchen - STUNNING views!

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed - both the beauty of the surroundings and the house itself with gorgeous views and unique design and decor. Cozy living room with great view. Basically two master bedrooms. Great kitchen and dining room. Nice deck if weather permits. Close to railway walking path. I even caught four brown trout from shore just across the lake. Highly recommend!

We (party of 8 adults & 2 children) chose this property to stay in for my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary surprise weekend to Oban. The house was easy to find, spacious, clean, and particularly well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. Being situated just a short drive (or bus) journey to Oban was great, and the local hotel/restaurant/bar just down the road from the house was an added handy bonus! I'd definitely recommend this property!

We loved the quiet rural setting on the loch with colours changing in the light all day long. The villages and towns in the area had some good restaurants and we found many places for long walks. The facilities at the house were adequate for cooking and leisure. The only downside, which did not affect us really, were some peculiarities that we've never before encountered in the many airBNBs we have rented in the past: several rooms, closets and cupboards were locked and off-limits; and many rather unnecessary "polite advice" signs posted. In our previous experience, the number of guests has had no effect on access.

Wir haben eine wundervolle Familie kennengelernt. Lisa,Andrew und ihre beiden Kinder kann man einfach nur ins Herz schließen. Unsere Tage dort waren wundervoll und die Wohnung ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet. Es ist alles da was benötigt wird und wir freuen uns, dass wir alle kennenlernen durften. Wir hoffen, dass wir uns bald mal wieder sehen . Wenn wir das nächste mal in der Nähe Urlaub machen, dann wieder bei Lisa,Andrew und den Kindern.

Loved our stay. Cosy, well-set-up apartment just across the river from central Inverness. Rebecca was great - even had a parking pass and fresh bread and milk for when we arrived. Definitely recommend - and definitely deserving of super-host title.

Sarah’s cozy, clean home was so comfortable and practical! The beds were so comfy! Our hostess was very responsive to any inquiries we gave her. Having the crib/ cot already set up for us was such a hospitable touch. We loved taking our morning coffee in the cozy window seat and soaking in the stunning views!

Wiir waren 18 Tage auf Skye. Die Unterkunft bei Ruarie war optimal als Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Touren auf der Insel Skye, Touren nach Glen Coe und zur Road of Isles und zur Applecross-Halbinsel. Die Lage in Torrin sehr ruhig und die Wohnung hatte hatte eine Ausstattung die keine Wünsche offen ließ. Alles super sauber. Ruarie selbst war stets hilfsbereit und freundlich. Er kann wertvolle Tipps geben und gibt einem als Gast das Gefühl, dass man einfach dazugehört. Sehr angenehm ! :-) Die Insel Skye für sich ist schon ein einziges Highlight für Naturliebhaber. Wechselnde Landschaften, beeindruckende Gebirge, tolle Strände und urweltliche Bereiche (Quiraing / Stor), wo man denkt, dass jeden Moment ein T-Rex um die Ecke kommt. Das Wetter kann ständig wechseln. Solange man passende Kleidung dabei hat, wird es jedoch sehr selten unbequem. Man kann tolle Wanderungen unternehmen oder auch Sightseeing betreiben. Am besten via Mietwagen, dann ist man in einem Radius von 120 Meilen mobil.

Brilliant stay in a fabulous location, Having stayed in the area for over 10 years on fishing trips this is the best, absolutely spotless lovely and cosy with views to die for, be it wildlife or weather watching (seen otters on the last day) it’s hard to move from the sofa or even put the tv on looking out the big picture window also it has the comfiest bed ever. The location is also excellent being close to Oban for restaurants, shopping etc but also for a lovely drives north to Glencoe etc also 2 mins away from the fabulous beach at Ledaig with its amazing views. Lovely little touches too, flowers and welcome pack with shortbread, tea, coffee milk and sugar to get you started. Will definitely be returning If I can loved it x.

Lovely place to stay. Chrissie gave very helpful instructions to find the accommodation as well as some good recommendations. Everything was as described and had everything needed for a quiet stay. Good fishing places nearby. Local cafe was great too. Chrissie was very friendly

great stay at obbe view! gorgeous views and an easy to find location with plenty of space and kitchen amenities. if you are staying in the summer, recommend an eye mask to block out the long hours of sunlight! enjoyed the skylights in the bedrooms for natural lighting. thanks for a great stay.

Beautiful cottage. Felt out of the way but was close to road into portree. Very warm building, bathroom and rooms superb. Would highly recommend and revisit. Visiting sheep was an added bonus!

We absolutely loved Julie and Kenny's cottage. It was very clean and exactly what we had hoped, based upon the listing. We knew we would arrive late, but ended up getting there after midnight. Kenny made it easy to get into the cottage. We loved being a little remote. This was perfect. Just far enough out without making it difficult to get back to a restaurant or grocery store. It was the perfect home base for everything we did on Skye. The only difficulty we had was locating the cottage upon our arrival in the dark. We couldn't see the cottage from the road. In daylight, it wouldn't be a problem. We were greeted each day by various farm animals. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfasts and dinners. We used the washer and dryer while we were there. The shower was wonderful. We enjoyed getting to know Kenny, and he was quick to respond to an issue we encountered with the TV. We only wished we could bring the cottage with us for the rest of our trip.

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

There is not enough space in this box for me to express how lovely Fiona and her cottage are! Everything is exactly as pictured (actually even more beautiful than pictured) and Fiona is lovely, incredibly responsive to any messages and happy to go above and beyond for any questions that I had. Everything in the cottage is clearly labeled with helpful instructions for use, and Fiona reviewed everything with me at check-in as well. I was traveling alone, and she checked in with me several times to make sure I was comfortable and ensure that everything was going well. A minor repair was needed while I was there and Fiona's husband quickly addressed it and was very considerate with ensuring the repair was done at a time that I would be out. The surroundings are peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I will absolutely be back!

Fiona is a super hote, she is super kind and reactive, her dogs are super cute, she gave us a lot of informations about the area. The cottage is super cozy. Thanks again for letting us stay !

The house is in a wonderful beautiful location. But be aware you have no local shop so you do need stock up in Fort William . We did know that because we were visiting for a Family wedding. The communication from Christina was perfect. We were a full 8 and there is plenty of room .
