Holiday rentals with beach access in Lombardy

Absolutely wonderful stay and amazing host. The apartment was exactly as described and the views and location were perfect. We loved sitting on the balcony, looking over the water and watching and hearing the people below. There are 2 wine bars just outside the door and also many restaurants. Alberto picked us up at the station and explained the apartment and area. Giorgio’s kindness was immeasurable. The trains had unexpectedly stopped running and he personally booked our transportation back to Milan and drove us to meet a new express bus. We could have never done this without him, as this was unpublished at the time. What a wonderful man! Varenna is a beautiful small village and there are many outstanding restaurants and things to do. Our highlight was taking a cooking class with Chef Marco, Chef’s Table, and later dining at his new restaurant, La Scarpetta. We recommend visiting the villas in town, taking the Taxi Boat to Villa Balbianello and hiking to the waterfall in Fiumelatte.

Wonderful stay and the view is amazing. The hosts are proactive and went extra mile to ensure not only my stay at their place but also the visit to Varenna is comfortable. They even went out of way to inform me that the trains are not working on the day of my vacating and in case I plan to leave Varenna, they suggested alternate modes and booking details. Very responsive, and kind to respond to me even at 11 pm in the night. The place is clean and cute with all you may need for a great stay. The bed is comfortable. The cute note they shared while vacating, and a beautiful handwritten“thank you “ note sealed the deal for me ❤️

Fabio was a great host. He was very proactive, to the point of telling about a train strike the day we were suppose to arrive. He allowed us to get in early and checked in with us several times to make sure we were doing well. This is a great place to stay. The view was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again.

Design Studio, The Beach was the perfect Airbnb for Lake Como, Bellano. The location was central, beautiful, and scenic. The patio/balcony was a wonderful and peaceful moment to my vacation. This was a very relaxing stay, and the host was so helpful and responsive. A huge thanks to the host!

The apartment is perfect and the view from the balcony is stunning! Such a beautiful town and Stefano was a great host - I definitely recommend this apartment as a place to stay when visiting lake como :)

I don't know what to say.... The whole thing was perfect. Entering through the gate with the car and seeing our beautiful little yard, surrounded by a jasmine hedge and full of flowers shaded by olive trees right on the lakefront was amazing. In the apartment, the windows that looked right out onto the lake made it feel like there was a living painting... with sound when we left the window open. I would like to address the low ceilings in bedroom and bathroom. It is true, they are low and we are tall so we did have to duck a bit at the head of the bed and in the toilet area but it was COMPLETELY fine. The kitchen was quite well equipped and we made a bunch of lovely meals there. It was a beautiful walk along a sidewalk but then mostly along the beautiful lakefront promenade into town and we walked a few times a day with no difficulty to the ferry, the grocery store, the lungolago. Best of all was Giampaolo's mom who was AMAZING as was her strudel. A beautiful lady!!!! Perfect!

An exceptional place with an incredible view! This apartment is simply magical. After a day exploring the wonders around Lake Como, it was a real pleasure to return to this warm cocoon. The view is breathtaking, and the atmosphere of the place is peaceful and rejuvenating. We were greeted with great kindness and generosity, which made our stay even more special. Frankly, we didn't want to leave! An unforgettable experience in a unique place.

Ettore's place was perfect for my wife and me! It matched the description well and was very clean. It is perfectly located right by the Varenna square and a short walk down to the water. Ettore picked us up off of the train and helped us get settled. Upon check-out we walked to the train station which is about 10-minutes away. The best part of the apartment is its location. Out the front door there is an excellent restaurant (Il Cavitappi) and wine shop (In Vinis Veritas). Albergo del Sole is a couple of (short) blocks away and is perfect for pizza. Gelato and breakfast stops are also very close. We rented a boat for the day and the dock is also very close to the apartment.

Thank Serenella for hosting us. The apartment was pristine, view was beautiful, basket was full of complimentary items. Anyone that needs some time to collect themselves and be away from civilizition and think things through, this is the spot! Thanks again .

Would recommend this spot - you are right in the middle of the busy waterfront! We loved - location (next to where we rented a boat, literally next to the funicular (this is busy frequently so we were able to watch as the line became more manageable) located just steps away from the Airbnb, VERY close to train station, very close to a supermarket, kids loved the hot tub. The host is so responsive and friendly, loved him. We received a welcome bottle of wine which was nice, thank you!! Only minus - (this was NOT terrible) but there is construction next door and they begin early (8am) which woke me up but no one else in the home. The ants, there are some ants that live in the yard in front and end up in the home - this was not overwhelming just slightly annoying.

First time visiting Veranna. Great location; 5 minute walk to train station and less than 5 minutes to ferry. House was well stocked and cozy. Lovely garden. Perfect for family of five.

A very nice, quiet accommodation with wonderful views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Carlo is a very friendly and helpful host. The accommodation was clean and well equipped.

We had the best time at Lorena, Carlo and Nicola’s place! The view is absolutely stunning, even better than the photos. The porch and garden are spacious and luxurious. The kitchen and bathroom have everything you need and the bed is super comfortable. Everything within the apartment is good quality - Lorena, Carlo and Nicola have thought of everything! They are very friendly and helpful, and even treated us to a delicious homemade lasagna and tiramisu on our first night, which was so appreciated after a big day of travel. Carlo also drove us to the ferry station on our last morning so we didn’t have to walk with our luggage. Thank you so much Lorena, Carlo and Nicola!

We had a fantastic stay! The place was exactly as described: clean, comfortable, and inviting. The water pressure and hot water were excellent, and the bed was super comfy. The views were absolutely amazing and made our mornings and evenings extra special. The location was perfect, just a short, easy drive into central Menaggio. Riccardo was an incredibly friendly and responsive host, which made everything smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!

House with very nice large garden, has everything you need. Inside rather functionally furnished and just enough space. But as soon as you can use the covered terrace, it is great. Great care by Sergio's father, thank you very much.

Wow! We have fallen in love with Varenna! We are so happy that we booked Marco and Syliva's wonderful apartment who were very welcoming! A breathtaking (beyond words or photos) view awaits you in the apartment. Everything was as pictured and even better. The terrace outside was an extra bonus! Large and private with an incredible view of course. The beds were very, very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless - good size, all the amenities and the shower was very nice with good water pressure and hot water. The apartment is up the hill from the ferry and quiet and peaceful. A short walk (5 min) brings you into the main square of the town. Varenna is small, so everything is close. Restaurants amazing! Al Prato and il Cavatappi were great! The Monastery & Villa Capressi - gorgeous! We took a boat ride. We toured other amazing villas too. Plenty of room for me and my husband & our adult daughter. The apartment is just as described on Airbnb. It is literally a 2-min walk from Varrena train station, ferry points and everything else (mini markets, restaurants) is at walkable distance. Fabio is very responsive and helpful, definitely recommend this property!

We received a very warm welcome and induction from Gian. The apartment was well equipped and ideally located for restaurants and public transport. We’d highly recommend this host and apartment 😊.

Had a great time in Palanzo! Quiet environment with lots of privacy, beautiful views and good coffee less than a minute's walk from the accommodation. As far as I'm concerned, the loungers on the terrace are worn out. Furthermore, there could be a little more coffee and tea, and the pillows are on the thin side (personal). Host Donatella is super friendly and helpful and personally welcomed us and explained everything neatly. As far as we are concerned, we recommend staying here for a few days.

The views from the apartment are truly insane. Every window stayed open our entire trip so we could soak it all in. Rosa was very responsive especially when a landslide blocked one of the roads and she communicated an alternative route to reach the AirBnb. She also helped us out by sending us 3 taxi driver numbers when we needed a ride out of Bellagio. We enjoyed being a little off the beaten path in Careno. It was an easy walk into Nesso. FYI there is a dock at the base of Careno so if you charter a boat they can pick you up there. Highly recommend!

Lovely lakeside views, calm and peaceful; these are hard to beat. We were treated to chilled prosecco and enough coffee pods to get us through a couple days! Our host provided perfect video instruction to get in so we had the flexibility to arrive when we wanted. The space was bright in the common areas and muted in the bedroom area for sleeping. Plus two bathrooms with new showers, very well apportioned. (Remember to bring soap or body wash as it was not supplied) Drive to Bellagio less than 15 minutes—the roads in the area are windy and a bit narrow but we got used to it. We ate out but the kitchen was well set up with utensils.

We had a wonderful holiday in Ida's apartment. Her son Andrea welcomed us and explained the most important things and gave us great tips. The apartment matched the description perfectly and there were useful maps and brochures available. The location was excellent, and the terrace offered beautiful views over Desenzano, the lake, and the mountains. Nothing was missing: the kitchen was already stocked with essentials such as salt, tea, coffee, and oil. All the necessary toiletries were also provided. Ida responded to messages quickly and communication was smooth throughout. If we return to Desenzano, we would definitely stay here again.
