Cottage holiday rentals in Madison County

This place was fantastic! We stayed here with our 4 daughters. They loved feeding and talking to Hershey the donkey every day. The home was clean and SO WELL SUPPLIED! We have stayed in so many AirBnBs where we had to rewash the silverware for every meal--not here! There were cooking utensils and silverware and plates and cups and bowls galore as well as tinfoil and parchment (so helpful for leftovers and baking). The owner also quickly supplied firewood when she realized it had been overlooked. We loved sitting in the front room playing games, reading, doing puzzles and enjoying the woodstove. The home is at the end of a mountain road and we hiked on the mountain and took walks up and down the road. The only constructive criticism I would have is that the key instructions are confusing. I would just say, there is no key, just a keypad with a code to get in and out. Thank you again for lovely quiet place for us to get away and celebrate New Years!

Once again, we appreciated how well Jay communicated. He is a great host. Shady Grove cottage is our most favorite Airbnb. A peaceful respite in the woods within a few minutes from Weaverville’s charming downtown. 😊

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our daughter's wedding up the road at Magnolia House. The Little Stone Cottage was perfect for our family of 4. Very clean and tidy, ample amenities, and we loved being able to unwind from the long drive in the hot tub! Hosts were very responsive and provided lots of recommendations in town. Highly recommended if you're visiting or exploring the AT. We were especially happy to able to support the locals who lost so much during Hurricane Helene.

Had a fantastic weekend and could not recommend visiting this beautiful little home in a gorgeous valley. Tori is a great host and we couldn't be happier with our experience.

We absolutely loved the cabin and it was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was spotless and we loved the decor- the cabin had a lot of character. The provided directions were very specific and we didn't have any issues finding it in the dark. Great location and super close to downtown Weaverville! This cabin did not disappoint!

Our favorite hidden spot and our third visit. The views, the hot tub, the porch! Always so clean and private and well-kept. Thanks y'all!

absolutely amazing place we loved the house and the yard. the hot tub was very clean the pond across the road was frozen over the kids enjoyed walking on the ice. we will definitely stay again.

Great location! While we did have some hiccups when we first got there ( she had a previous last minute stay and when we arrived it wasn't clean. She was very easy to get a hold of and came right away to clean) Melanie was super nice and the house was great for our quick get away. Walking distance to town and some beautiful hikes. We enjoyed our stay! The house had everything we needed.

Very comfortable, lovely home with all needed amenities! Would definitely stay there again if in the area. We were visiting for a wedding in Weaverville and the location was close to the venue.

This airbnb is a gem! It's in a perfect location for anyone wanting to enjoy nature and beautiful views but have a very short drive into town that offers everything thats needed. In the last few months I've stayed at many airbnbs while in the process of relocating and one thing I found to be too common, is many don't look the same in person as they do in pictures. This place is the exception!!! It looks exactly like what you see in the photos and even offers everything needed for someone that loves to cook. I highly recommend staying here! Also, the owner is very kind and communicative and makes great suggestions on where to go locally.

I had the most wonderful week at Michael’s Place—it truly felt like a home away from home. From the moment I arrived, there was a sense of peace and comfort that stayed with me throughout my entire stay. My puppy and I had an absolute blast here; it was the perfect spot for both of us. Waking up each morning to the gentle singing of birds was such a serene way to start the day. Despite the road nearby, it was surprisingly quiet and calm, and I found the surroundings to be incredibly peaceful. At night, the soft light from the gas station across the street added just enough glow to make me feel safe and not lost in the dark, especially when I had to walk my dog during those late hours. No matter the time—day or night—I always felt secure. Michael, thank you so much for creating such a lovely, welcoming space. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, safety, and a real sense of home.

I recommend Renata's place without hesitation. The listing is accurate and the house and property are a great place for a peaceful, scenic country get away. The house is comfortable and inviting with good quality appliances and amenities. Everything worked well. Renata is friendly and helpful and genuinely goes out of her way to provide a comfortable rental experience. The fenced yard for furry friends and the screened porch overlooking the river add much to making this property special. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The cottage was everything I could have wanted for a peaceful trip to reset after the holidays. It was cozy, whimsically decorated, and had lots of great poetry available to read. The features I used the most were the tub and the electric tea kettle. The sound of water from the stream in the front of the home was so soothing to listen to. It was also very easy to get groceries at the Ingles up the road and cook all of my meals in the kitchen. The home had everything I needed for a calm, easy getaway. The homemade blackberry jam was to die for - I actually went out and bought more croissants not once, but twice to eat it all! I loved every little detail, and can't wait to return :)

I can’t say enough great things about the cottage and Marion! We loved our time there and we will be back in the fall for another AT section hike!

Great cozy cottage. Loved the trail to walk my dog. The place was very clean . The host was extremely responsive. All around a great place to stay.

Brian was incredibly responsive to our inquiries. He even left a light on for us when we advised we’d be checking in after dark. Our adventurous pups loved the long driveway, because it allowed them to “explore” the woods without having to worry about the critters that typically come with an off-trail hike. The cottage was just as described and in a great location - central to the parkway, Weaverville and just a short drive from Asheville. The next time we head down to the area, we hope to stay here again!

We love the house! It was very well thought out with the design/setup. The nice bedding and linens really elevated with stay! Everything in the house seemed like it was very good quality and well thought out. The host's info packet was super helpful. We loved the local Weaverville restaurants that she recommended. My wife and I hope to come back for another peaceful refreshing nature getaway!

Had the best stay at the Rock Cottage! We were so delighted to meet Libby & Wes & their place was perfect. Loved the front porch & the oeaceful location. The kitchen was so well equipped that we had everything we needed for our stay. The antique furniture in the bedroom was lovely & the cottage itself was so cute. Cannot wait to come back again!

It was a wonderful place to get away from everything. A small town close by offers some great coffee and local eats. Be sure to check out paint rock, Hot Springs Spa, and Lovers Leap. Would return for sure!

The place is clean, cute, and in the perfect spot! Walkable to everything. Hot Springs is adorable with great people. The diner down the street was delicious! The Magnolia House is a perfect wedding venue. Melanie was great to work with and quick to respond to any needs! Perfect weekend.
