Welcome to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari! Located on the side of our visitor centre sits a spacious two-bedroom home. It is a relaxing and comfortable place to unwind, with stunning views and amazing walking trails right at your door. We are New Zealand's largest fenced eco-sanctuary, home to 2,500 kiwi which you should be able to hear at night. Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).
