Villa holiday rentals in Matara

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Noumi, the staff were friendly, kind and responsive. We were welcomed with cold towels, juice and a fruit basket (5 star welcome). The villa itself was very clean, the photos are accurate! The breakfast and dinner we had in the villa were wonderful. The kids were well catered for with a massive box of lego and some toys/card games which were well used after beautiful morning swims at secret beach. Overall I would recommend this place to families or a few couples or even friends. Well located and a short tuk tuk ride or short walk into town and the beach. Thanks for having us!

We spent four days at Villa Sõmar and are completely satisfied. The villa is spacious, very clean and exactly as in the description. In the morning there is a delicious breakfast served by two very dear employees. The Sri Lankan banana pancakes are highly recommended. Furthermore, before arrival, you will receive a very detailed message in which, among other things, there are many restaurant recommendations, beaches nearby and even numbers of two tuk tuk drivers. The location is fine and you can reach anything by tuk tuk or scooter. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and would come back anytime.

Stayed for 2 nights as a group of 5 friends and overall had an fantastic experience. The home was spotlessly clean, spacious, and really comfortable for our group. The location was ideal, just a short walk to the beach and close to great brunch spots. The outdoor pool was a real highlight for us. It was clean, well-maintained, and was perfect to enjoy in the evening. The host was also great, very friendly and responsive and stayed in touch throughout our stay. They also provided a helpful recommendation leaflet with local tips which really appreciated. Overall, a fantastic spot for a fun and relaxing getaway with friends. Many thanks!

This is such a great stay! Awesome surf break right in front of the house and super comfortable house, pool and nearby cafes and yoga for non surfers. The house is beautiful and Madhu and the team will cook you anything you want (just pay the ingredients) so it’s super affordable to eat. You can watch him cook and learn Sri Lankan curries. Really sad to leave and we’ll definitely be back!

We stayed at Kasun's villa for two days and had a wonderful experience. The villa was well-maintained and equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable long stay. On the day of our checkout, which happened to be a Poya day when nearby restaurants were closed, Kasun's father provided us with breakfast — a thoughtful gesture we truly appreciated. We will definitely visit again when we’re in Weligama.

Priyanthi’s place was absolutely perfect for our stay in Hiriketiya! It was exactly as described, very modern and we were greeted with fresh coconuts and flowers on arrival which made us feel so special and welcome! We had beautiful hospitality & service from Priyanthi’s son who was always on hand to help us with anything we needed and provided lovely, authentic breakfast in the mornings. We would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area! Thank you so much to Priyanthi & family for a lovely stay - we will be back! :)

Chamila is a super host. We felt his place was a home away from home. After reaching his property, his wife helped us carry our bags to our room. Since Chamila stays on the property, it helped us settle in quickly. We were staying on the first floor, while Chamila and his family were staying on the ground floor. We liked his property so much that we extended our stay by one more day. While leaving, Chamila carried our bags from our room to the taxi

What can I say, but.....wow! we had 5 kids and 4 adults on our holiday and this house could not have been more perfect. The amazing breakfasts every morning, teh huge pool, teh cleaning service done beautifully each day. wow. wow. wow. loved it all. Thank you!

We had a fantastic time with our family at villa Salina. It is really recommended to celebrate your vacation in this house. Everyone was waiting for us. We had a fantastic meal. Wonderful swimming.

Clare’s place was everything & more than what we were expecting. The villa is absolutely beautiful, set in the most peaceful & tranquil surroundings. Nuwan’s cooking and hosting was the cherry on the top of our experience. Tushara also really looked after us. We were able to organise 3 private yoga classes & a massage - personal highlights of my stay at the villa. All of the above meant that whenever we left the villa, we wanted to get back straight away to our private paradise even though Ahangama is a great area to visit. Highly recommend staying and experiencing the beauty of Villa Sisila!!

The villa was absolutely beautiful — but what truly made it unforgettable was how close it was to the beach. I already miss the feeling of simply stepping out and jumping straight into the ocean waves. The villa itself was spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed. But most importantly, the staff completely exceeded our expectations. They were warm, incredibly helpful, and always eager to make sure we felt at home. No request was too much — they always said yes with a smile, even when we asked for everything under the sun. Honestly, they were the heart of this experience and made our stay even more special and memorable. The only small downside worth mentioning is that the plumbing could use a little attention — nothing that ruined the stay, but something to be aware of for future improvements. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back — it was a truly wonderful experience.

Fantastic stay at Talaramba Reef! We had a large family gathering for 3 nights (9 adults and 5 children) and booked both villas. The villas were beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, very comfortable, with lovely and immaculately kept grounds. The place was very spacious and it felt very relaxing, and the pools were very pleasant. Ranjith and his team were incredible. They were kind, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a memorable stay, including helping to organize a party and putting up a lovely banner. The food was also exceptional and great value for money. We cannot recommend this place enough!

We stayed in Hiriketiya for a few days in early April and had an amazing time in the area. Siri the housekeeper really made our stay, he was amazing helping us with any house questions we had as well as giving us recommendations in the area and telling us fun facts about Hiriketiya.

Great stay at this villa! The hosts and the local manager were extremely helpful and responsive to anything we needed help with! Amazing view and great fun with the pool and table tennis table! Would definitely come back!

A very clean and cosy villa located a short walk from the beach. Close to many surf-schools and restaurants. Sahan was a great host and ensured everything was clean.

FireMoonGarden is not just a villa, but a whole experience. And I'm sure you won't find anything better around Mirissa. Staying here ended up being one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. Absolutely flawless. I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for something a little more special.

2nd time we’ve stayed at the apartment, but first while Andy has owned it. Andy has improved the place greatly and all works well and comfortable. 5 min walk to Hiri beach and 10 Dickwella beach. Perfect for various restaurants. Would certainly go back.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house in Mirissa! The home was very clean and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning in the bedrooms to escape the heat. The living areas were cooled by ceiling fans, and the windows in the stairwell were open to the outside. The hosts were incredibly attentive—each morning they came to prepare a delicious breakfast for us. There was also the option to have our rooms cleaned daily, which was a nice touch. The pool, while small, was perfect for cooling off and the kids absolutely loved it. It made a great spot to relax after a day out exploring. There are a couple of fantastic local restaurants within walking distance, which made dining out easy and enjoyable. Accessing the beach was a bit tricky as you need to walk through private properties, but that seems to be common along this part of the coast. Overall, a relaxing and well-hosted stay—highly recommended!

Had a wonderful experience

We had a wonderful stay at Hiru House. Jude was incredibly responsive and very helpful. The accomodation was spacious and easily accommodated our 3 families, totalling 13 guests. Jude and his wife Asha cooked us an amazing Sri Lankan feast one night, a favourite meal of many of us. I would love to come back and stay again!

This was a great place in a great location. The staff were super helpful. Chef Indy is a great cook and we enjoyed both his breakfasts (French toast was great!) and dinners (excellent curries). Kelum helped us arrange surf lessons as well as providing other tips. We had a great stay. The only downside of the place is that it is between a busy street and the train tracks and the train can be a bit loud but it didn’t keep any of us from sleeping and the private yard area is very nice. The open kitchen/living/dining area has a beautiful view of the ocean and the AC in the bedrooms worked great.
