Holiday rentals with a fireplace in McHenry County

This was my third stay - it’s an awesome place and I felt right at home. Highly recommend!

This is the best place to stay in the Hebron area. Large house that easily accommodates a large group.

Beautiful, peaceful location right on the Fox River. The home had everything you could need for a great weekend away. Appliances were top of the line, clean bedding and cupboards were labeled so it was easy to find dishes/cookware. Hosts were responsive and check-in/check-out was easy. Highly recommend!!

Christine’s place was perfect for our needs. We were in town for the night for a triathlon. It was conveniently located near downtown McHenry which was very charming. Christine was very communicative and shared all needed information as well as recommendations for restaurants, etc. she was easy to work with and was flexible. Her place is VERY clean and comfortable. I wish I wouldn’t had to wake up so early so that I could have enjoyed the comfy bed a bit longer. The backyard is lovely and super relaxing. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. We felt right at home here with our toddler and our dog. Our son especially loved the fun sunglasses on the coffee table. We hope to return and would definitely recommend.

Pictures didn’t do this place justice, clean and very well furnished. Kitchen fully stocked as if they live there full time. High end utensils and kitchenware. Very cozy, well lit during the day, several spots to hang out indoors and outside with lots of entertainment options indoors, lots of room to roam outside and a fire pit . Sandra responds instantly, she’s very far from you so you have privacy but always available to come by if you needed anything. Sandra invited my daughter to help her groom the horse and that made her day. Would visit again for sure, and perhaps in the winter if available. The fireplace beckons. There’s an XL size griddle outside which I was allowed to use. She’s offering you all she has, so treat it with care and respect and clean after yourself so that we can all enjoy her place. Place was absolutely beautiful and clean beds were so clean comfortable. Kitchen was supplied with many amenities that you would need it was a very nice place the only thing we ran out of toilet paper there was only one in each bathroom and we couldn’t find

Nothing short of amazing! Frank was an incredible host, very informative and friendly. Our family enjoyed everything about our stay and will stay again on or next trip to Illinois!

We were looking for an upscale, relaxing getaway close to Chicago - and we found it with this lovely property. Ross was an extremely communicative host and his home was perfect for our family of 5, though this home can fit 15+ people comfortably. The beds seemed new and very comfortable and everything was very clean. The property has an incredible deck with a breathtaking view of the lake - we took advantage of relaxing in the hot tub while our kids enjoyed the games that the house provides (cornhole, etc). At night we hung out by the large, built-in firepit - with ample firewood! - though the house also has a cool fireplace that we would have used if we were staying in the winter. I would watch out for some potholes on the winding road towards the property but otherwise this was a perfect getaway which made us feel like we were in another state entirely, and not in our Chicago bubble of monotony.

The apartment is spacious, bright, and looks right onto the Rock River. I would love to return in the summer and be able to enjoy the deck which overlooks the water. The location is convenient to many local attractions. It would be a good place for an extended stay with a well-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. Nice modern kitchen and bathroom. Saul was a great host and replied quickly to messages.

From her greeting you at the front door to making sure you have all that you need. Her place is perfect for a few days or even an extended stay! Located just off the highway and close to an amazing wine and restaurant - and minutes away from Beloit College! I recommend and look forward to my next stay

This was the most at home we’ve ever felt while traveling. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable! Laura was fantastic at communicating with us and is very kind. We will stay here again if we ever make another trip up to Rockford.

Owners were amazing and responsive. Place was beautiful and peaceful. It is above a bar but guests were friendly and respectful. Lots of amenities. Will definitely be back

We stayed at Jodi and Mike’s Airbnb for 3 days and absolutely loved it! The space felt like a cozy cabin -clean, thoughtfully decorated, and so relaxing. There was a little fireplace, smart-tv, two desks, and a big comfy sofa with lots of corners to relax. The kitchen was spacious and well-stocked, and we appreciated the breakfast items left for us. The bathroom even had drawers with travel essentials -such a thoughtful touch! The outdoor garden was beautiful with chairs to enjoy the sun. The location was perfect, it was just a short walk to cafes, breakfast spots, and downtown entertainment. There’s also a convenience store nearby. Jodi and Mike were so friendly and welcoming, but also gave us space during our stay. We’re already planning to come back!

If you are looking for reasonably priced stay for four which isn’t too far from downtown Chicago, this is a really good find. There is good parking, the place is safe and secure. The kitchen is spotless and all amenities are there We stayed for 3 nights and everything went well. The hosts communicate very well and promptly not just before the stay but also during the stay.

Truly a gem near Lake Geneva. Plamena’s place was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to host our families. It was our first time vacationing again after having babies earlier this year and our toddler had a blast. She won’t stop talking about “her toys” at the airbnb. Plamena’s place is also a 5 minute drive to downtown Lake Geneva which was very convenient. Our overall experience was great, Plamena is an amazing host and we look forward to staying with her again in the near future.

Wow! This was a wonderful place for my family and me while we were in the area for Tough Mudder. Everything was set up so nicely for us with helpful instructions, recommendations, treats, games and toiletries if we needed them! This home is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood and plenty of space for everyone. Thank you so much for the hospitality!
