This was a very cute apartment just 20 min by train to dontonbori area. It is steps away from the train station which was so convenient to travel to tokyo or if you are coming or going to Kyoto. The host was also very kind and allowed us to check in just after noon. There is also a lawson, 7/11, mcdonalds and KFC around the corner, as well as an amazing coffee shop right outside the bnb. Highly recommend the place!

We had a truly memorable stay at Ryunohara Hotago, a beautifully restored 120-year-old Japanese house with modern comforts. Lee was a fantastic host who gave an insightful introduction to the restoration process and the meaningful furniture and materials used. The amenities were excellent—well-stocked kitchen with utensils, equipment, and even spices. The highlight was the private open-air bath, with cast-iron goemonburo tubs filled with silky Ryujin Onsen water. We joined morning farm activities, brought out the goats, and enjoyed eggs fresh from the farm. Even with limited time, we got to plant rice and experience rural life firsthand. Lee was warm, generous, and full of knowledge, eager to share insights on both architecture and farming. A deeply enriching and restorative escape. We will definitely wish to be back again. Thanks Lee and volunteers for such a memorable farm stay experience!

I was able to stay like own home. Due to unusual cold, the owner brought a brand new electric blanket and I was able to sleep in the warm bed. I thought it was very kind of them.

It was a great place to stay and it felt like a really nice home. I honestly had no issues with it or the host, as they were extremely quick to answer my messages. It is close to the train station and has many shops a few minutes away. The area was really calm and peaceful and Wakayama is a great place, which added to my satisfaction.
