The accommodation is in a quiet residential neighborhood that is well located, 5 minutes on foot from Yamagoe Station on the Tozai Subway Line and 8 minutes on foot from JR Yamagoe Station, with good security. JR Yamashiro Station is one stop (5 minutes) from JR Kyoto Station. This area is home to many people, so there are many supermarkets, 24-hour convenience stores, restaurants, and bars, so you'll have no trouble finding things while traveling. The house is in a residential neighborhood, so it's very quiet at night, so you can enjoy a stay and experience as if you were living in Japan. You can access all of Kyoto's tourist attractions by public transportation such as trains and buses from the nearest station, JR Yamko Station and Yamko Subway Station. It is also easy to get to Kansai Airport, Osaka, Nara, Tokyo, and many other places. The highway (Kyoto East IC) is a 3-minute drive from the inn. * Free parking is available for 1 car in the parking lot about 300 meters from the house. Also, next to the house, there is a paid coin parking lot, so you can rest assured if you come with multiple cars.

Built in the early Showa era and long used as a tea ceremony classroom, the townhouse has been reborn as a private rental inn, "Kyomachiya Cottage karigane". It is a 1-minute walk to the hot springs and Daikokuji Temple, which has deep ties to tea. Shino, with its unique cafes, coffee roasters, delicious Japanese confectionery stores, bakeries, and soba shops. Please use the carefully restored Kyomachiya as your base for sightseeing in northern Kyoto, where time flows slowly, with a focus on natural materials and traditional craftsmanship by Miyadai Koge and Saigo craftsmen.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

This is the only guest house (entire house rental) facing Shinmachi Street in an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The streets lined with merchants' houses, built in the late Edo period to the Meiji era, give you a strange feeling as if time has stopped when you step into it.
