Avalon House: The Mine Managers

The Mine Managers Suite at Avalon House has some of the original timber wall panelling dating back to 1889 giving it old word charm whilst upgraded modern amenities make it a warm and comfortable private apartment for two. This was the residence of Thomas Davey who managed the Harrietville Gold Company till the great depression in the 20’s. With a private pet friendly courtyard, it is in the centre of town walking distance to Cafes, Parks, Rivers, Pubs and all Harrietville has to offer.

There is a seasonal heated swimming pool, BBQ area, fire pit and playground Nest Swing. Cottage has air conditioning, floor heating and a private verandah. Approx 40mins to Falls Creek, 35mins to Bright. Perfect getaway for any time of the year.

Little Farm Accommodation

We are nestled in the foothills of the Victorian Alps,close to Bright. There is a crystal clear stream suitable for trout fishing nearby. Our little farm consists of cattle, chickens, two dogs, chestnuts and blueberries and bountiful Australia wildlife. The cottage(bedsit) is self contained and private, with one double and two single beds plus a very large shady garden with a BBQ and Gazebo. Pets are welcome. We very much welcome international travelers to this beautiful area.

We have tried to make a home away from home for you to enjoy. The house is not new and angular but mature, softened and comforting. If you are looking for old fashioned relaxation with comfy beds, sunny corners, throw rugs, books to read and DVDS to watch, this might be for you.

Loft studio over our garage that is detached from the main house. (which can also be rented out for 6 people). Separate entrance via stairs. Sofa in-situ along with table and chairs to eat/work at. Small kitchenette with sink, under-counter fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave (NOTE: NO oven or Stove) Sleeping: King Double bed OR 2 x King Singles. High ceilings, fan, Reverse AC and Heating. Separate WC to En-suite shower room (good privacy!)
