Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Mount Vernon

We stayed here for a couple nights with our two kids and dog and it worked well. Plenty of space for us. They do mention that the ceiling is very low and there are quite a few steps which are both very true but it is manageable. There is free parking right on their street which was a huge draw but construction limited the spaces when we were there, but Brian & Jess were helpful and we found free parking on the next street with no issue. We used public transportation to get around and it was very convenient and easy, two different bus stops super close by and easy to get to the metro. Lastly, it was so hot and very humid when we were there, the apartment is in the basement and it was musty and damp in the morning. Brian & Jess were helpful when we brought up, and were told the mini split unit has a dehumidifier setting and it seemed to help some. Brian & Jess were responsive and nice, and we’d recommend staying here when visiting DC!

This cozy cottage was the perfect oasis after a long day outdoors. The house is in a quiet neighbor, but is close to everything. The house was full of charm and very comfortable. Pet friendly with a large fenced yard, which was very important for us. We had everything we needed for our stay. The host was quick to respond with updates or if we had questions. This will be our go to place to stay the next time we visit the area.

We had a great one month stay! The unit was as described, with no exceptions. We enjoyed comfortable beds, plenty of towels, a well-stocked kitchen, and a gas grill that fired up on cue every time. We spent our evenings on the front porch listening to robins and admiring the beautiful hydrangeas that were in full bloom. WIFI was excellent, with the fastest upload speeds I have ever experienced. Note that the one bathroom is up on the second floor – a minor inconvenience. The location was superb. The unit is on a quiet side street away from the bustle of King St. Yet, you’re two blocks from the King Street metro stop and three blocks from a Whole Foods. A couple of restaurants are right nearby that have attractive happy hour options. There is even free trolly service toward and from the waterfront area if the one-mile walk is too much after a long day on your feet in Washington. We would definitely stay here again!

The place was very clean and welcoming. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking and snacks and other personal care items were offered! Place was spotless and in a quiet area, very easy to find. Sosena’s was extremely responsive and provided me with local recommendations! Also the beds were comfortable!

***** Five Stars***** I have to say, that out of all the locations I've stayed at, this has one of the best, if not the best. This host has been responsive since we made the reservations with possible early check in, to making sure we got checked in ok. I have to admit, that turning onto the road leading to location initially make my mind wonder, however once I got to location my mind instantly changed. Once I was inside, my mind was blown. When I say this host puts attention to detail, they absolutely nail it. I dont want to spoil it, but I suggest a mini scavenger hunt to see all the small details they put into this place. There is plenty of room to sleep, 2 double beds, 2 couches and a back yard oasis that we enjoyed each night. This location is about 20-30 minutes from downtown Washington DC. You are about 10mins from Business like Target, Outback, McDonald's, etc. We have definitely booked mark this location for future visits.

TODD’S is KING! We have been searching for our new home & have stayed in 2 of their buildings. TODDs’ customer service has been fast, reliable & friendly! TODD’s has made us feel relaxed & welcomed during our visits. Our cat feels at home here, too! He has been anxious in other Abnbs, so it’s a great benefit. Their units are clean & stocked with essentials — like bathroom, laundry & kitchen supplies. The bed is super comfy as is the living room couch. The TV is large & U can stream your favorite channels. They even supply a safe — for your valuables — and an ironing board & iron for that quick press! A big closet, too! We have very much appreciated TODD’S staff for many reasons. They WANT to help & they WANT their guests happy. They went out of their way to help us elongate our stay, when we realized we needed more time! They kindly juggled other reservations to ensure we could stay longer. Such a pleasant surprise & experience! We recommend TODD’s highly!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house was clean, cozy, and exactly as described — even better in person. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and the home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Most of all, our host was incredibly generous and kind, going above and beyond to accommodate us. It was a true blessing to be welcomed with such warmth and sincerity. Thank you so much again for your hospitality — this was more than just a stay, it felt like a home. We would gladly come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Nathan has a lovely home—it feels like stepping back in time into one of old Washington’s charming houses. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and communication with Nathan was excellent. The location is convenient, about a 25-minute walk to Capitol Hill. While the surrounding area could be better—the streets were a bit dirty—it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t affect our overall experience. We had a wonderful time in Washington, and staying at this house was definitely part of it. Thank you, Nathan!

The proximity to the Long Bridge Aquatic Center, metro line station, and nearby grocery store , and of course Reagan the airport, store exceeded my ‘close by’ expectations. I was very comfortable in the studio apartment.

The Woodland retreat is an amazing getaway! My sister and I were extremely happy to spend a weekend at the pool and can't wait to visit again soon!

My stay at Temi’s was nice and I miss it already! I felt safe even at night. A bus stop is a 6 minute walk away and the metro station is about a mile away. Temi is very responsive and the friendliest host I’ve had. For it to be basement unit there were not a lot of bugs, which was a concern for me, just a few spiders. Temi will communicate with you and the other guest to coordinate them coming down to wash their clothes. The cleaning she uses is amazing and does a great job at cleaning the space.

We had an incredible stay at Jerry’s place. From the moment we arrived, everything was exactly as described-clean, cozy and thoughtfully prepared. The space was beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable and the amenities are top-notch. The location was safe and quiet. We also appreciate this place’s proximity to restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Jerry and his co-host were hospitable. We were impressed by how responsive and welcoming they were. We highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a comfortable, stress-free stay.

5 stars! Perfect Stay for a Family Getaway Near DC My family of 10 had a wonderful time staying at this Airbnb just outside of Washington, DC. The home was incredibly accommodating—clean, spacious, and thoughtfully set up for a larger group like ours. We loved how peaceful the neighborhood was, providing a relaxing break from the city, but it was still just a short drive away from all the sights and attractions DC has to offer. It was the perfect balance of comfort and convenience. We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay and would absolutely book again!

Charming old home with updated kitchen appliances. Well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans. Kitchen has a sturdy table and chairs. Also has a dining area. Lots of comfy furniture to lounge on and watch TV. Comfy bed, pillows & comforters. Plentiful towels. No shampoo & conditioner. Easy level parking. Several new homes nearby, were in the process of building. Home next door seemed near completion. So it started to become noisy around 8 am. You could easily walk to shopping, restaurants and Rite Aid Pharmacy. Walmart & Costco are less than 2 miles away! There is a nature preserve at end of street that you could walk to with your dog. Saw a young deer early morning. The entire apt is on 1st floor. Second level is closed off. The a/c worked very well to keep us cool on a few humid hot days during our visit. Jacqueline was very nice to reach out to us if we needed anything. She allowed us to extend our time if we needed at checkout.
