A 6km walk around the lake, or if you are feeling adventurous, a 3 hour hike up Mount Benson and its amazing views are nearby. Only three km to downtown, & float planes to Vancouver. Washer/dryer available for longer stays. No pets.

The Bunkie - Nanaimo's forest retreat

'The Bunkie' is a private home tucked away at the foot of Mt. Benson, offering a comfortable place to escape from the stress of daily life. This 1350 sqft fully-furnished one-level home with wrap-around deck was built in 2017. The home is surrounded by 8 acres of quiet forest, and only steps away from a multitude of recreational trails. The Bunkie is ideally situated as a 'homebase' from which to explore all that beautiful Nanaimo, and Central Vancouver Island has to offer!

Old City Quarter Miners Cottage

Private small one bedroom miners cottage in quite downtown neighborhood. Close to many amenities, VIU & hospital. Easy walk to the seawall, shopping and many restaurants. The cottage is set in a lovely garden with seating under the gazeboor under the grape arbor. Both hosts John and Marc are artists and have a small show room on the property that we a happy to open if our guests have a desire to see more of our art. Sorry we are unable to accept same day guests.

We recently reimagined & refurnished our above ground 1 bedroom suite in the scenic Departure Bay Area of Nanaimo. You will be walking distance (less than 2 km) to Departure Bay Beach plus lots of shopping & services. We are a short drive to BC Ferries Terminal, downtown, great restaurants, shops, services & walking trails. The suite has a separate large bedroom w/ queen bed, perfect for singles & couples (max. 2 adult guests PLUS an infant).
