Vacation rentals in Newport

“Just as described. Walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Newport. 11 minute walk to Nye beach. 16 minute walk to the bayfront. There are hills in each direction, very characteristic for the area, so not exactly a leisurely walk. On and off street parking. The space is in what seems to be a converted garage. Ample space. Second hand furniture and wares were just fine for our needs. There were extra blankets. Only two regular pillows so I recommend bringing your own. We didn't bring our dog, but it was definitely dog friendly. There were no traces of pet fur or smell whatsoever. There were some dog toys and treats provided, which was very sweet. The heater is in the livingroom so the bedroom may get cold with the door closed. Same with bathroom. Everything you need to prepare full meals is provided. The folgers coffee and little snacks were a thoughtful touch. They even had a variety of seasonings and coconut oil pan spray. The tap water was good to drink. We accidentally fell asleep on the futon, which is not for the faint of heart. It's fine for kids and young people. Great movie selection for our cold nights in. From Harry Potter to 007. The only sound heard from nextdoor was water. Make sure to turn the dehumidifier on while you're gone. It makes a huge difference. It's one of the quieter ones I've heard. A lot of information in the binder for anything locally you'd want and need from food to entertainment. We will stay here again and recommend to friends.”

“Linda and Allen’s place was just as described in their listing. What that doesn’t account for is the welcome we felt while there. Linda greeted me with a hug and had the place warmed up for us which was great as it we were a bit chilly and wet from a hike. Both Linda and Allen were just as welcoming to our dog which made us feel at ease. As indicated in a previous post, they had to remove the stove/oven but the kitchen is otherwise well equipped and we weren’t cooking anyhow as they were plenty of take out options nearby and we were exhausted each day from adventuring. Yaquina Lighthouse recreational area is just five minutes away and the rest of Newport is about 10-15 mins away which makes this location ideal. The beach is beautiful and private. It is a minor workout to get back up but so worth it. The only change we would make would be to have a firmer bed, but that is just our personal preference as the rest of the bedding and pillows were very comfy.
