A great, little, cozy and unique cabin called an ‘Ålhytta’ in the small village of Haugastøl including everything you need. The cabin is surrounded by nature and features nice views on the lake, similar Ålhytta’s and two national parks: the Hallingskarvet and the Hardangervidda. The cabin offers a nice calm and relaxing stay- if you want to escape the noise of big cities it offers a fine contrast. The cabin itself was visually pleasing, very well maintained, well isolated, clean and in great condition. The hosts of the cabin were extremely kind and hospitable, and also gave us information about the surrounding area. Information about the stay was also clearly communicated through Novasol. There really are only positive things to be said! It offered a great starting point for the many activities in the area- from hiking at the door of the cabin, rafting, climbing vast mountains and visiting great waterfalls, to renting a lake-sauna and dining in Geilo. We would gladly return some day!

Great traditional cabin. Peaceful and quiet, with a lovely view not located in the middle of a modern dense cabin area. It feels like you've been on a "proper Norwegian cabin trip". Was extra fun to use wood-fired oven for cooking 😍 (was a regular oven there as well, but it's not as fun😄) Great akebakke right outside the door as well. Recommended 👍

The apartment is ideal for a ski holiday in Geilo. The slopes can be reached on skis. The apartment is tastefully decorated. The equipment is very good and of very high quality. For more detailed questions, Novasol's customer service referred us to the owner Mr. Pinto-Bolstad. The communication with him was excellent and always friendly. We would book the apartment again for another ski vacation.

Great house in beautiful surroundings with great hiking opportunities right outside the door. Elisabeth responded quickly and made nice recommendations for activities. Really enjoyed in both the house and the area. Happy to come back!

A simply wonderful place to enjoy the Norwegian upland, with ski trails from the door, super floor heating, warm historic vibe, and a comfy couch. It has two tables that seat six, a kitchen with tools, utensils and servingware to cook for a crowd of 12 (or more) and serve them coffee and wine, and a dishwasher for cleanup. It’s very well-equipped—like visiting an aunt with one of everything—so there was a right-sized ski pole when we broke one, an extra pulk and harness, plastic sleds for a small army of children, extra ski wax and tools, and the mudroom has long benches for booting on/off, and tons of hooks for hanging outerwear. When wood for the fireplace ran low, Bengt responded quickly.and had it delivered. There are tons of books in the Nordic languages as well as English on many topics including the local area and beyond. The market in Ustaoset is a short walk/ski, and Geilo was easy to reach by bus, train, or taxi for stores, dining, or a downhill ski. Love. This. Place.

On this family-owned farm you get closer to the mountain than on your common cabin area. Hosting is extremely pleasant. The cabin is cozy and has the nice view of the mountain. We look forward to coming back.

We had a wonderful stay at Geilo and could not be happier. The apartment was clean, two bathrooms and was centrally located to ski resorts and only 5-10 minutes drive from the city center. Communication with the landlord has been great - quick responses, helpful, and very welcoming. It was easy to schedule both check in and check out, and the whole process felt safe and smooth. Highly recommended - we'd love to be back!

Very nice and modern apartment. Perfect for groups of friends or family. Difficult to get to the city centre without a car, but otherwise nice location close to the trek. We had a lot of fun:)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our first trip to Norway, and this apartment exceeded all expectations! We’ve done multiple ski trips to France, but Geilo was fantastic—easy to get around with a hire car, and the slopes were pretty quiet at the end of January. The apartment was warm, comfortable, and well-equipped, with powerful showers and plenty of hot water. Its location was perfect for family skiing, with nursery slopes on the doorstep and a short lift to the Vestlia ski area for all levels. Ski hire and lift passes were super easy to sort through SkiGeilo in Vestlia—we pre-ordered online and picked everything up the afternoon before our first ski day. Supermarkets (Spar, Kiwi, Rema) are just a 10-minute drive away. We’re already planning our next trip—and even trying to find the same sofa for our home in the UK! By far the best Airbnb we’ve stayed in. Highly recommended!

The apartment was clean, cozy and had a beautiful view of the mountains. Easy access and good directions from the landlord. Very good communication with the owner. The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. Not far away there was a hill that was well suited for sledding. Recommend, maybe come back again🙂

We found a cozy oasis there. Which we occasionally left for a walk or hike around the lake. We felt close to nature and well taken care of in the apartment.

Wonderful home right next to the slopes. From the moment we arrived, the chalet welcomed us with warmth and comfort, feeling like a home away from home for the entire family. The meticulous attention to detail in every corner did not go unnoticed, making our time both comfortable and luxurious.
