Family-friendly holiday rentals in Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands

My husband and our 3 young children and I stayed at Blake's place and we had a blast. We stayed in April, so we wanted a place with things to do even if the weather was cooler and this did not disappoint. The cottage is private, spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of different areas to relax and explore. The beach is rocky but easy to walk on and the kids had fun flying kites on the windier days, and exploring the shallow pools of water that formed between the cottage and the lake. The outdoor space around the cottage was great for the kids and us to roam around, and we took advantage of the nearby hiking trails in Tobermory as well. We loved relaxing by the fire pit, and spending time in the hot tub which overlooks the beach. Thanks for hosting us!

Came in September, days were warm and evenings were cool. You need blankets if you want your windows open. Non motorized equipment was good, canoe, kayak, etc. were in good condition. Water is crystal clear. We took our dog and the area was very private so we did not need a leash. Lovely cottage for 6 adults with room to spare. Beautiful sunsets! I knew we would do lots of pasta and I brought my favorite pot. I didn't find a pasta pot as big as mine in the lake house, so if you are a family of pasta lovers, consider bringing a large pot and colander for BIG meals.

Our stay at Orchid Trail in Tobermory was nothing short of spectacular. The cottage was gorgeous—immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and fully equipped with everything we needed, from cooking utensils to cozy comforts. The location was pure paradise, surrounded by stunning views and the natural beauty of Tobermory, which is truly one of Canada’s hidden gems. Every moment felt like a peaceful escape. Blake, our host, was incredibly communicative and supportive from start to finish, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Orchid Trail is more than just a cottage—it’s an experience. A slice of heaven that we can’t wait to return to.

The host is very responsive and extremely humble. Had an amazing stay at the cottage which felt just like home. Our stay couldn’t have been better. The place was extremely clean and very well organized.

This place was amazing! Beautiful views and lovely living room. We loved the kayaks and the fire pits and the hosts were very accommodating and responded quickly. We would definitely come again!

This is a beautiful spot to stay at. Rest, walk, fish, and explore the area. We had a great time. The sunsets are beautiful.

We had a fabulous time at the this waterfront cottage. Nice peaceful and relaxing location. Lots of room for all eight of us and the dog. Many attractions nearby. Lake was great for the kayaks. The only downside was a little bit musty smell in the basement which isn’t good for asthmatic people.

Perfect island get away for 1 day or all of your days. We were very comfortable & our pets enjoyed every inch of the beach. Tha KS for such a great place. Easy to find & affordable.

Great cottage, one of the best cottages in Northern Ontario that I have stayed. Other campers in the park were very friendly and helpful. They would give us rides up the hill in thier golf carts. Bruce, was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying at this cottage.

Spent a few days here and loved every minute of it. Place is comfortable. Woodstove for chilly nights and crystal clear lake for hot days to swim in. Thanks Jay and Christine for being fabulous hosts!

This location is stunning. We watched beaver and geese, nesting swallows and a loon around the lake. Sunsets were spectacular. The docks with Muskoka chairs invite guests to relax. The sauna is an added touch of comfort. The cottage#1 was spotless and well equipped. The bed is so comfortable. The chairs inside are less comfy than the Muskoka chairs outside, but who watches tv here? We brought food for pur two day stay off season, which was wise, because there wasn't much open. We did go to Blind River to eat at 17 after Marc and Sharon recommended it. It was great! The highway noise is a huge deterrent from the peaceful ambiance, but you will get used to it. It is not in the control of the hosts. Marc and Sharon are such kind hosts. We even got a tour of the waterfalls on their property.

We had the most amazing weekend with our four kids (ages 2 to 10) at Sunkissed Cottage! The lake is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The location felt safe and private. We felt like it was just ours, even though it was a holiday weekend. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had what we needed to cook our meals. It was a weekend full of fishing, swimming, kayaking, bonfires, and board games. We checked out the old Presque Isle lighthouse, which is a short, pretty hike from the marina and full of charm. We would love to visit again!

Perfect base for daytripping and only 18 minutes by bike to Singing Sands. It was private and peaceful. We had lots of fun watching the birds clamor over the bird feeders and the hummingbirds were a delightful treat. Had everything we needed for our family!

Our time at Brennan’s Harbour RV resort was just what my husband and I needed to recharge. The model mobile home pictures match exactly to what you see when you arrive. Berndy was fast and efficient at answering questions and showing us around the cottage. There were small delights waiting inside like homemade loaf for breakfast!! Our fire pit was private and wood was supplied, as well as fire starters. Appliances inside are clean and modern. There is a large deck which is partially covered to enjoy the rain while being protected. We truly enjoyed our time away up North and cannot wait for you to enjoy Brennan’s Harbour RV resort as much as we did!!! 10/10!

Our 2nd stay at Eagle’s Nest was great. It’s just a 12 minute drive into Tobermory. The house is spacious and nice. The rocky terrain in front of it is beautiful, and access for swimming is easy.

We enjoyed our week as we started each day with coffee on the dock and ended with a sunset drink each evening. The location was central to everything we wanted to do on our first visit to Manitoulin - Misery Bay and Cup and Saucer for hiking, Providence Bay for great beach time, and Gore Bay for chocolate and brews. The cottage was comfortable with everything needed for our stay. Jeff and Jenn were great hosts. We shall return if the opportunity arises and recommend to others.

The cottage was very clean, but didn't make you feel like you couldn't be yourself in it. We started enjoying it as soon as we walked in. The property was well groomed and clean. Beautiful sunsets by the fire.I would definitely recommend to others
