We are 15 mins drive on sealed roads to amenities in both Mangawhai and Wellsford, 8 mins to the Te Arai surf beach turnoff and 12 minutes to the Te Arai Links course.

Wild Forest Hideaway Cottage - Eco Retreat

'Drink the wild Air' Wild Forest Hideaway is the oldest human-made thing on the property. A mix of peace and calm in a secluded slice of the Kauri Coast. There's space here. The 110-year-old Kauri Bushman's Cottage is self-contained but attached to our house. It sits next to the stream, surrounded by native forest. An outdoor cast iron bath. A swing chair by the stream. A dining table and a hammock on the covered deck. Views to the secret garden.

This fully self contained unit with large deck and views over Ruakaka Beach and out to the Hen & Chick's will provide the space you need to unwind and relax, no matter if it is a work trip or a weekend away. May not suit everyone. There are bikes and a touring kayak. At high tide there is access to the Waitangi river and plenty enough time to paddle to Haruru falls or Paihia and back.
