Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Private Modern Treehouse on Highland Farm

Designed as a nod to my heritage, Skoghus ('forest house' in Norwegian) was crafted for relaxation, and reconnecting with nature. The treehouse sits in the centre of a Scottish Highland cattle farm, with pasture and forest in all directions. From the yard, you'll be able to observe and engage with the farm's cattle when they come by. Inside, you can disconnect and unwind, with luxury amenities. The dwelling is completely unique and provides a very special feeling while living in the trees.

Boat access only cabin surrounded by a coastal forest fjord. Fernleecove is one of a rare number of very private waterfront properties near Vancouver. Bookings are only offered with a guided boat taxi ride from Deep Cove, round trip included per booking. Generally guests remain at the cabin for the duration of their stay making it necessary to bring all groceries needed. Once at Fernleecove the property offers a natural setting to enjoy the ocean & woods from a comfortable cabin hideaway.

We have updated The Hideout and look forward to welcoming the world back at the end of summer 2025!! The Hideout grew from a vision we had when we moved to the Coast in 2020. With the desire to share our dream of living amongst the trees, tucked away from the world, The Hideout was created. Wrapped in hand milled cedar, fir and hemlock this space was designed to remind us to slow down, breathe deep and take it all in.

Seaview Cottage is cozy and romantic, perfect for a getaway weekend or longer. Located on Cates Hill, Bowen Island, it has a fabulous view of Snug Cove, Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains. The neighbourhood is generally quiet and peaceful and there is a nice outdoor space for you to sit and enjoy. Please note that we do not allow any pets in Seaview Cottage. The Captain's Quarters at The Old Dorm

Welcome to The Captain's Quarters at Bowen Island's historical Old Dorm. We are just a short 8 minute walk from the ferry, restaurants and shops in the main Village of Snug Cove. Bowen has some great beaches as well, and we are just a short walk to both Pebbly and Sandy Beach. The Elegant bathroom has a large soaker tub, and a separate stand alone shower.
