Me and my friends loved this BNB!! The hot tub was amazing and the pool was an awesome addition. Instructions were clear and even called to walk me through everything. Plenty of places to sleep and loads of places to go!

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place, house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed for a month stay. Private and beautiful surroundings, responsive and friendly host, and a great location to explore Maine and the upper east coast. Memories to last a lifetime! Would recommend anyone wanting to enjoy to coast of Maine to stay here and have a great time, so much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. The place was peaceful, spotless, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We loved how close it was to all kinds of fun activities, but honestly, we could have spent the whole time just enjoying the property. The sound of the river right outside was so calming—we fell asleep to it each night. There’s a cozy outdoor firepit we made good use of, and the hosts even left us a thoughtful local Maine gift at check-in, which was such a sweet surprise. Can’t recommend this spot enough!

Fantastic place! Excellent location, perfect for me because it’s nestled in a woodsy area with a gorgeous view and very quiet and peaceful yet still close to town in case you want to go out to eat and have some fun.. not to mention that Acadia is not that far at all down the road, which is half the reason I go to the Ellsworth area. The place was immaculately clean and Suzanne and Richard were wonderful hosts.. a big plus was having full phone reception which is great for being able to plan your days in the evening when you’re relaxing.. the tannins in the water might turn some people off but when you know how harmless tannins are its really no big deal, the shower makes the bathroom a sanctuary! Especially after a long day of hiking and adventure.. felt spoiled! Will definitely be going back again

Erica was SO accommodating and helpful. She responded extremely quick anytime we messaged and gave us tips and recommendations. Her home is adorable and we really enjoyed being there. It had everything we needed! Only thing to note is that while her place is 20 minutes from Acadia’s entrance it is a big park so anytime we were going to a hike it did take more like 40 minutes to get to it, just worth a mention! Highly recommend her place!

We stayed at this place for a weekend! Family of 4! Everything was great! Very peaceful surroundings! Quite, private and gorgeous. We enjoyed kayaking, I managed to cut white perch from the ramp, used grill once. Place looks new and welcoming. I wish we had more time to spend at the house. Bar Harbor/Acadia/Sand Beach is less then an hour away, easy access with no traffic. Meghan was very responsive! Our flight was not until 6pm and she allowed for a late check out. Book this place with no doubt, you will not regret. Will comfortably accommodate a family of 5.

Jamie's lovely home was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've ever had. She sent us a helpful email the week before we arrived ... something that's never happened before in all of our Airbnb stays. She continued to be both responsive and proactive during our time there, and I knew that if anything went wrong she'd be easy to reach. Her recommendations for local dining were spot-on and we appreciated the guidebooks, hiking poles, and well-stocked kitchen. And the house! Well designed and beautifully situated with views of Mount Desert Narrows (and sunsets too). We were there with some of our young adult children and we all had plenty of space with three bedrooms and three full baths. Conveniently located at the top of the island, we could easily get to all parts of Acadia National Park and neighboring coastal towns. It was a short drive to everything we wanted to do, and we also really appreciated the wooded setting's privacy and peace. Thank you, Jamie! A perfect week.

Our stay here was so much fun! Swimming, fishing, kayaking, there was so much to do and the water was awesome! It was the perfect place to stay to have your peaceful vacation being in a great neighborhood but it was still located close enough to places where you could go if you’re looking to get great food, or go into a nice town with other things to do. Ryan was such a great host he had so many great recommendations on what to do, and where to go nearby for everything! He really cared about your stay here and it showed, he went out of his way to make sure you felt comfortable and had fun during your vacation! He was so responsive and was there if you needed anything. We would recommend this place to stay to anybody, and would love to come back. It’s the perfect place to bring your kids and your dog and they provide so much to make sure you have fun while staying here!

Beautiful and peaceful location! While off MDI, it was still very easy to access Acadia National Park and was a convenient location overall. Wonderful views out the windows, sliders, decks, etc. The area by the water was lovely as well. As we were staying with our baby, it was so helpful to have some provided baby items—a pack and play, high chair, and a baby gate (though we didn’t us the latter)—in addition to typical items (bed linens, towels, a wide variety of kitchen essentials, etc.) Robard was an excellent host, providing lots of information before the stay and responding promptly during our stay. We couldn’t get a window to lock (user error on our part) and Robard quickly came to check it out. He arrived just as we figured it out, but was very kind about the inconvenience, and chatted with us about the area and clamming by the water.

We had a great time at Boyd Lake. Beautiful spot for swimming, kayaking, fishing, etc. The house was awesome, with modern kitchen and everything you need to relax. Very cool to see the loons swimming by.

We felt so at home at Travis’ place. We had a late check in, and I will say he was right when he said it’s tricky to find in the dark! Once we got there and looked around it got easier. Everything was so clean and cozy. We loved having the two bedrooms right next to each other. It made it easy for our young daughter to get us if she needed us at night. The view alone made us feel so at peace that not much could top it. We also appreciated the access to tvs, but not making them stick out in the home. Everywhere we went was between a 30-45 minute drive which we did not mind at all. We actually quite enjoyed it so we weren’t right by all the craziness of some of the tourist towns. I can’t say anything but amazing things about this house. If you’re looking to book and this house ends up on your list.. just book it!! You won’t regret it.

The place is beautiful, relaxing and peaceful. We were able to bring our Gracey Girl who had an amazing time with all of the smells in the secluded location. We were able to explore areas in town and Bar Harbor. Yes, it was a 45 minute ride to Bar Harbor but it didn't feel like it and to be able to come back to the beautiful home in the peace and quite was amazing. I was paranoid about the electricity, being off the grid, but there were no issues even though we had a couple of cloudy days. The wifi worked well too, both streaming TV and for the little bit of work I did while there.

John's place is absolutely beautiful and homey! The house has been totally renovated in the winter of 2025 and is very lovely, classy, on-trend in ways that make this seaside cottage feel so refreshed, current and relatable. And that's just the INSIDES! The deck overhanging the rocks to the shore is THE perfect place to hang out: start your day here with a mug of hot coffee. Have lunch and cocktails in the afternoon/evening while viewing the unspoiled, gorgeous bay. Nature and serenity are what this place is ALL about! Enjoy the total peace, privacy and happiness this home provides. It's a true gem!

We had a truly unforgettable Father’s Day weekend at this beautiful lake house just outside of Acadia. The setting was absolutely perfect — peaceful, scenic, and right on the water. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather the entire stay, which made our time by the lake even more special. The home itself was warm, inviting, and well-appointed for a family getaway. We spent our days kayaking, relaxing by the water, and enjoying meals together with the serene lake view as our backdrop. It was the perfect blend of comfort and nature. Everything was clean and just what I expected from the listing. It was a great location in relation to Acadia National Park. We enjoyed staying in more secluded spot, but we could easily drive into the busier Bar Harbor area. I highly recommend staying at Hannah’s place!

Kristan was very accommodating and s helpful for our stay. This is the second time we have stayed with her in Maine. We appreciate the hospitality. The location is perfect and a really nice house. We will definitely keep them in mind for our next trip up !! Thanks again !

This is a really beautiful space in an even more beautiful stretch of woods and coast that gave us truly the best of Maine! Hosts were very quick and helpful with various requests and questions (even when we got locked out), and the space was a lovely honeymoon spot for my husband and I.

38 Lily Cove is a great place for a large group of adults or families to enjoy the outdoors, or just to enjoy amazing views of the outdoors. There is a great view of the inlet and a short hike down the hill gets you to the Waters edge. We found it a good place to explore both the down east coast to the north and Acadia to the south. The house is only 5 miles from an excellent supermarket - close by Maine standards. :-) Jeff, the owner, was easy to work with and checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. There are two bedrooms and two baths upstairs, and another bedroom and bath downstairs. There are also several large couches for lounging, reading, napping…. This place is SPACIOUS and there are BEAUTIFUL high ceilings upstairs. The kitchen is big and well equipped including large pots for lobster. Don’t forget your streaming passwords to enjoy on the big screen (or login as guest on Prime). And there is a foosball table!
