Villa holiday rentals in Papagayo Peninsula

We booked very last min to stay at David’s place as we only had a few days left in Costa Rica and wanted to be closer to the airport but not right in town. David responded right away and gave clear instructions on how to get to his place. The studio was very clean and felt very homie. The pool was clean and a great little community pool area with a BBQ. David stopped in on our first day and was very friendly. Craig who lives on the grounds is a great guy for food and beach recommendations. Stores are close by (within walking distance) made for an easy first night to cook dinner. Bed is very comfortable and nice hot shower for the end of the after touring around the local area. Nice a quiet at night to sit and have a beer or morning coffee with the local wild life. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our next trip.

Exactly as it appears in photos. Host was responsive prior to and throughout our stay- offering recommendations, making a reservation for us and immediately addressing a maintenance issue. Clean and spacious. As a bonus- we were fortunate to spot 4 howler monkey right across from our front door. Definitely recommend!

The view is absolutely amazing! The villa has all the amenities you’ll want and is very safe with two gates, alarm system and security cameras. The sounds of the jungle and the wildlife are very present. Very peaceful and relaxing. If you don’t mind driving 20 min to Tamarindo and seeing a few bugs, this is the best Airbnb to rent! The host is very nice and responsive. Would definitely go back!

We really enjoyed our 6 day stay at Casa La Reina! The hosts were extremely friendly and easy to communicate with throughout the booking process and our entire stay. They helped us arrange an excursion, groceries, and meals for the week. When we arrived, we were greeted by the hosts who helped show us the property and all the features. At this time we also paid for all of our groceries for the week, which were stocked in the fridge/pantry. They even had welcome snacks and drinks prepared for us when we arrived! The house is about 15 minutes from downtown Tamarindo on a gravel road. The road is fairly easy to navigate, the last part being a steep hill up to the house. We had a small SUV (Rav4) and had no issues traversing the roads. The house felt very secluded, safe and private. The house was also very well kept and had an amazing view from the deck/pool area! We had a total of 4 people (2 couples) and felt we had plenty of space and privacy while here. We would highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Kaya Villas and will definitely be back. Beds were very comfortable, the grounds beautiful and private, and close to great food and the ocean. We loved having Plays Avellanas as our home base and honestly didn’t feel the need to stray too far. Went to Tamarindo one afternoon and then to Playa Grande several times as well. Our host was super welcoming and helpful as well. 10/10!

Great views. The top of the world pool within the community has unbelievable views at sunset. You’ll need to drive a little ways to get to many of the beaches but there are lots of options. House was comfortable and worked great for large group.

Casa Serendipity was pure magic for our family. As a wellness practitioner and mama of two little ones, I’ve stayed in many places—but this was truly a sanctuary. Mariela is the most incredible host—like a 24/7 concierge angel. From airport pick-up, car rental, grocery tips, to curated local gems—she thought of everything. The home is stunning, spacious, and incredibly private, yet perfectly located to easily explore the best beaches, restaurants, and adventures. We woke to birdsong, made meals in the outdoor kitchen, lounged by the pool, and even picked fresh mangoes. It was peaceful, secure, and deeply nourishing. Every detail supported ease and connection. After full days exploring, it felt like coming home to serenity. I would stay here every time—we’re already dreaming of our return. Mariela, thank you for creating this heart-centered haven. Patricia’s home was precisely what our group was looking for in Costa Rica—spacious enough for 9 people (including two couples), private and safe, full of amenities look cooking supplies, and responsive hosts. Patricia and Susan were more responsive than any host I’ve ever stayed with. They messaged us on Airbnb and other apps for ease of communication, and check-in, which was a breeze, included a tour with the property manager. They also connected us with the most trustworthy, affordable, high-quality transportation and tour company. The property was safe, well air conditioned, comfortable, and easily accessible. If our group finds ourselves in Guanacaste again, we’d love to return to Casa Bella Tortuga once more. You made my partner’s birthday and PhD graduation celebrations all the more special. Thank you!

After relocating from a disappointing rental, we struck gold with Casa Ruby! While our previous place lacked essentials and a safe pool, this home was perfect for our group (2 couples, 3 kids). The unique layout gave everyone their own bedroom and bathroom - a luxury when traveling with family. The stunning pool was immaculate with plenty of toys. We loved the outdoor space for morning coffee and the convenient BBQ and outdoor fridge for poolside drinks. The recent renovations show in every detail - luxe furnishings and incredibly comfortable beds with hotel-quality linens made sleeping heavenly. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking, and the living room offered games and a TV. Location is ideal - 8-minute walk to the night market and Little Lucha's amazing tacos, 15 minutes to the beach (or $4 Uber). Thank you Fernando and Valerie for sharing your hidden gem. Truly a dream home away from home - we hope to return!

You won’t regret booking The Palms! A private, quiet retreat that was upscale and away from the hustle and bustle and party scene of some of the other Pacific Costa Rican beach towns. As a family of 5 with 3 kids ranging from 8-13 yrs old, the size of the condo was great, the kids enjoyed swimming in the waves at the beach, boogie boarding, and playing in the infinity pool with stunning beach views and sunsets. The grounds were beautiful and the staff was very attentive and kind. The bartender made me a drink off menu simply because I asked for something “uniquely Costa Rican!” The condo itself was well-stocked with staples to make for such a convenient stay. It’s even better than we imagined. There was a hiccup at check-in which caused some stress and a maintenance issue, but the Palms and host quickly made things right which was very appreciated.

So many good things to say about this place and the concierge. First, the home is even better than the photos and they thought of every detail. The pool is an oasis with the most beautiful sunsets. We believe the absolute best time to visit is early May, but you really can’t go wrong. The concierge made great recommendations for our stay and they coordinated superb excursions for us. In addition, we hired Flamingo Foods (through concierge) and they hit it out of the park. The food, service and kitchen staff were wonderful. We felt very safe, there is a guard at the main security gate 24/7. There are also two more security gates that you go through as you go to the home within the gated community. Surrounding the property there is so much to do in Playa Flamingo. This beach was our favorite. Go get a massage in the beach. Also stop by Coco Loco at the beach for their famous “Coco Loco” drink. Play Flamingo Marina is also a hot spot to check out. Surf box, Santino Norte… Google it. 10/10

Perfect 50th Birthday Girls’ Getaway! We recently stayed at this incredible vacation home to celebrate our 50th birthdays — 8 girls, one unforgettable trip! The entire property was absolutely stunning. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the pool was perfect for lounging and laughing, and the villas were quiet, clean, and beyond comfortable. The beds felt like heaven after long days of fun in the sun! We especially loved the open-air showers and the outdoor showers — such a luxurious and relaxing touch. Jason and Kathy were phenomenal hosts. They messaged us almost every day with thoughtful recommendations for excursions, restaurants, and local gems. Their friendliness and attention to detail truly made the experience even more special. Everything about our stay was amazing and exceeded expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a better setting or hosts. Highly, highly recommend!

This home was perfect for our group of six! The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were beautiful as well. Being able to do laundry was super helpful given we are traveling for two weeks with carry ons only. The host was very responsive and helpful during our whole stay! During our three night stay we easily got to see three beaches in the area! The only downside to this was the drive in to the property. While the home is in a gated community the drive there is through and underdeveloped area of guanacaste with unpaved roads with huge potholes. We had 4 wheel drive so it wasn’t a huge deal. This stay was still definitely worth the price!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tamarindo. The house was exactly as described, very clean and great amenities. We felt very safe in the gated community, and enjoyed the peaceful and private location. Erik and Dom are wonderful hosts, proactive in communication and extremely responsive. The access to the beach club and the incredible breakfast of local cuisine from the housekeeper were particular highlights for our group. We will be back for certain!

This was our first time to Costa Rica and it won’t be our last. The villa was well appointed and exactly as described. It had everything we needed for our fam of 5 to feel well settled. Lots to do around the area especially if you rent a car. The A/C was frosty cold, the pool was great to cool off in and the beach is easily accessible. Just book it! You’ll love it.

☀️Absolutely Amazing Stay at Casa Luna Amarillo.🏝️ We had an unforgettable experience staying at Casa Luna Amarillo! From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the amazing property itself. Even more beautiful than the pictures on the site. The house was spotlessly clean, spacious and beautifully decorated with a tropical, yet cozy vibe. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals and we loved enjoying our meals with a spectacular views. The location of the home made it possible for the most amazing sunrises and sunsets. The pool was the perfect spot to relax and cool off after a day of exploring the area. The location is fantastic—just a short drive to Playa del Coco’s beautiful beach, shops, and restaurants. The hosts were awesome. Very responsive when we encountered a problem with our stay. They did accommodate us for the inconvenience and made it possible for us to stay and keep enjoying this magnificent home. Highly recommend!

A stunning property! Upon opening the door we were in awe of the beautiful view and house amenities. While the kitchen, main bedroom and main bed outdoor deck are the biggest highlights is this property…the entire home was perfect for a family of four and we were impressed by all areas. Comfy linens, upscale appliances, spotless surroundings and kind condo staff are just some of the reasons this stay was one of our best of all time. The town of Playa del Coco is within minutes, the black sand beach feels private and pools/restaurant are great. I consider our family particular and this house didn’t disappoint. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Encantada. It was private and peaceful. It is meticulously maintained and very clean. Lorraine and Real are helpful hosts, who have lived in Costa Rica a long time and have many great recommendations for the area. Highly recommended!
