Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Puerto Carrillo

This was our second time staying in Puerto Carrillo area and we loved it. One of our favorite places. The house was great for 4 people. Had everything you would need. The pool area is beautiful and private and we loved listening to the birds and animals at night. The TV was broken when we arrived and Danny responded to us immediately and brought us a new TV the next day. Would recommend this place!!!

A peaceful getaway with modern design. I highly recommend this place, it has beautiful green areas and nature. Shoutout to the pool it’s better than the photos.

We had a great time in Samara! The book of local recommendations was such a nice touch - we loved visiting several of the beaches, restaurants, and stores. It was also lovely having the pool at the house to help with the hot temperatures!

We had the most incredible time at this gorgeous spot. Daniella was wonderful to deal with, so easy to get a hold of, attentive and great to chat with. Always had excellent suggestions and recommendations, she made our stay feel so easy and she was so accommodating. The house is very well thought out, spacious beyond what the photos show and the most amazing backyard filled with howler monkeys throughout the trees that greet you in the mornings and afternoons. Had absolutely everything you could think of needing for a relaxing adults trip. A 5 minute drive to the beach town of Samara, which was wonderful to adventure around, so many great beach bars and open market style restaurants with fantastic food! Heritage Bar was a favourite with some of the best burgers and Indian food I’ve ever had! Only 10 minutes to playa carillo. I wish we had booked this spot for longer!

Barbara and Johns place exceed our expectations. The pictures don’t do it justice it was truly beautiful. They were also amazing hosts and went above and beyond to help make our stay very special. I would heavily recommend staying here and with this host! Barbara gave many great recommendations and even helped my boyfriend (now fiancée) plan a surprise proposal at the local beach! This was truly a trip to remember and the beautiful house and amazing hosts made our stay even more incredible.

Best host in the world 🌎

Spending my 50th birthday here was magical—truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Krista and Guido go above and beyond to ensure guests feel at home. The house sits atop a mountain with stunning views of the valley and ocean. Each evening, we were serenaded by thousands of birds—pure magic. I spent hours in the hammock listening to nature and unwinding. The bed linens and pillows were exceptional—a rare treat in CR. Thoughtful touches like organic coffee, honey, and pantry staples made cooking a breeze. The pool was spectacular, surrounded by fragrant flowers. We explored Nosara and Samara for beaches and great food. Meeting the hosts and sharing our love for Costa Rica—having moved here a year ago—was a highlight. The on-site waterfall was the cherry on top.

Right in the heart of a wild Reserve, with beautiful birds flying round as you relax by the pool with freshly made juice in hand and your jumbo shrimp on the bbq. What more could you want? Walk 10min and your on an epic surf beach, Playa Camaronal. Most consistent in the region and very few people ever on it. Drive further and you have the most secluded peaceful beaches where turtles lay their eggs at night (4x4 recommend ). Drive 10min the opposite direction and your on a huge white beach lined with shady palm trees; Playa Carrillo is a local favorite on the weekends but empty all week. Dayana was an amazing host, she was so quick to respond and bring anything we needed to the property. Didn't need much as the place was impressively kitted out. She had loads of suggestions where to go and was super understanding of our needs with a 16month old. Perfect place for kids in the gated compound. You can even rent all 3 flats so the whole family are together.

We had a fantastic and relaxing time in Samara. The house is very comfortable, with the best beds of our Costa Rica trip. The kitchen was well equipped, and everything was as described. The pool, while small, entertained the kids after a half day at the beach. Two things to note if you're going to book. 1) You may think it is walkable to Samara, and technically it is, but in the heat of the day it is not. 2) The public utility infrastructure of Samara is under strain, so expect blackouts and at certain times of the day a dribble of water pressure. This is a Costa Rica thing, not a house thing. We had a fantastic time.

Absolutely incredible stay! Par en Par was even more beautiful than the photos. The views were truly breathtaking — we could see the ocean from every room and loved the privacy each space offered. The villa itself was spotless, stylish, and perfectly set up for a relaxing, luxurious vacation. The pool was a dream — clean, serene, and surrounded by lush greenery that made it feel like our own private oasis. The service was top notch. Omer was responsive, helpful, and always friendly. Any questions and requests were answered quickly, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

This was a beautiful place to stay at! If you love to be at a cottage during the summer, this place is definitely for you. The host and his family were super sweet individuals, and always provided great tips when we encountered them. For families with kids, this place would be amazing as it is spacious, has a mini pool and a playground.

This place is stunning! It's up in the hills and super quiet. This modern home was beautiful and immaculate and had everything we needed. All the glass windows remind you that you are in the jungle and to slow down, what an amazing space. Claudia the property manager is fantastic and responsive. The place looks exactly like the pictures. A small, cozy Airbnb with beautiful windows and great vibes. Honestly, we loved it. Huge shoutout to Josefina for being such a great host, super communicative and proactive. And a standing ovation for Jenny, who handled the cleaning. We brought in sand daily and cooked every day, and somehow she always made the place look brand new again. Truly amazing. A couple of quick notes: if you’re not comfortable with off-road driving, this might not be the best fit at least for now while the roads aren’t fully prepared. It can get tricky, especially after rain when it’s slippery. Also, the house is right next to the road. Most of the time it’s super quiet, but occasionally you might hear some traffic from workers going up and down the hill. All in all, we really recommend and hope you have such a nice time as we did.

Wow, wow, wow, this place is amazing! From the a-frames, infinity pool, views, kitchen, great hosts, everything is perfect! If u want an unique experience in a beautiful place, just book it!

We had a great stay, the villa has amazing views over Santa Teresa and the hosts were lovely. You will need a 4x4 to stay here as the road is quite steep and rocky, but well worth the drive

Villa Element is an incredible home in Santa Teresa. Enjoyed a few days here with the family during spring break. The private location and stunning accommodations made a a great home base during our stay in the area. Hope to return again in the future.

A little away from the tourist hotspots, but within minutes' reach by car, Jeremias' property is located on a quiet side street. We lived in the Gypsy Cave for eight days, a tastefully and creatively built and furnished house on two floors: downstairs a cozy living room, a well-stocked outdoor kitchen, a terrace with seating, a bathroom and upstairs two bedrooms, each with two good double beds. The house has everything you need: fans, air conditioning on both floors, fast WiFi. Jeremias lives with his wife and child on the property, which is also home to a lovingly run place for children - the "Wild Child Play Garden". We really enjoyed spending the mornings on the veranda couch, watching the sun rise, watching birds, squirrels, howler monkeys and lizards, having breakfast and hearing the sounds of children playing in the background. the house and the entire place have a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, communication with Jeremias and his wife is uncomplicated and supportive on all levels
